Primary Purpose of Position The social media coordinator reports directly to the Director of Marketing for Business Services. This position is responsible for applying thorough knowledge and research of student audiences and marketing techniques to execute the Business Services social media strategy for multiple platforms (e.g., Facebook Pages, Youtube, Instagram, TikTok, Reddit, Discord, LinkedIn), and create and manage the Business Services content calendar. The social media coordinator is responsible for monitoring and responding to customer inquiries on social media within the recommended 24-hour timeframe outlined in the University's overall social media strategy. This position will use reporting to identify trends and areas for improvement. This position will report and respond to customer issues to the appropriate area for action, if necessary. The incumbent must possess the capability to produce reports, KPIs and benchmarking to advise the marketing team on effective content production and strategies for student engagement. The incumbent must be able to effectively communicate with incoming students, direct student ambassadors, and maintain a valuable and friendly brand voice online, and help new student workers understand the Business Services areas, operations and services. The social media coordinator must be able to use emerging communications technologies/platforms and design expertise to execute a multi-media social strategy that includes graphics, photography and video.

Minimum Education/practice Required Minimum Appropriate qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and practice. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

University Preferred Appropriate qualifications:
Graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in a closely related field that provides the knowledge, expertise and abilities needed in the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and practice.

Essential Job tasks
   » Responsible for managing and executing the Business Services social media strategy for multiple current and future platforms (e.g., Facebook Pages, Instagram, TikTok) and creating and managing the Business Services content calendar.
   » Monitors and responds to customer inquiries on social media within the recommended 24-hour timeframe outlined in the University's overall social media strategy.
   » Uses reporting to identify trends and areas for improvement. This position will report customer issues to the appropriate area for action, if necessary, and respond to customer questions and feedback.
   » Works directly with student workers to plan, organize and arrange content creation, videoing, scheduling and ideating campaigns. Promotes user-generated content and works to improve engagement and increase Business Services social media account followers.
   » Establishes KPIs and sets benchmarks for the improvement of content quality and production.
   » Responsible for running Business Services and vendor partner promotions, giveaways and social media campaigns.
   » Create graphic assets, photography, short-format video and other assets for Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts for both Business Services and vendor partners.

   » Content creation for social media platforms (e.g., Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and/or TikTok)
   » Quantitative and qualitative expertise with proven data interpretation abilities
