Your function: As our newest team member, you'll begin by learning the ropes of timber sales, this will include marking timber and performing forest inventories. As you gain practice, you'll work directly with landowners, loggers, and timber buyers to discuss and implement logging operations and develop management plans from start to finish. Eventually, you'll perform landowner consultations, onboard new clients, and independently manage and supervise your own projects. What We Offer: » Full-time position » Competitive compensation commensurate with practice ($40-50K per year) » Flexible work schedule, typically 40 hours per week, with flex options for a summer schedule to take advantage of longer daylight hours and have extended weekends. Qualifications What expertise and Trails We'll Need From You: Minimum of 1 summer forestry internship. knowledge or availability to lgain forest management systems and forest cover types of the Great Lakes region. 2 or 4-year degree in forest management or related field. Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and on uneven, hilly terrain. knowledge of spreadsheets, GIS mapping, and be proficient in the use of a compass, increment borer, cruising prism and a biltmore stick. Valid driver's license and appropriate vehicle for off-road work.
