The ASGA supports the adjunct Director of Academic Support with everyday operations and supervision of peer educators, including management and support of the LU Tutoring Lab as needed. The ideal candidate will be student-focused, organized, and detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal communication expertise. The candidate must have the capability to handle confidential data with discretion and tact while working independently or in a team environment. What You'll Do - Position Job responsibilities: expertise, expertise, and Abilities: » Advanced oral and written communication expertise. » Well-developed interpersonal expertise with a demonstrated capability to work collaboratively with a wide variety of students. » capability to exercise professional judgment and leadership abilities, including the capability to work independently but with consultation with the adjunct Director. » High level of time management and organizational expertise. » capability to problem solve and think critically. » Skilled in Microsoft Office. » Demonstrated capability to gather and analyze data, draw conclusions, and present findings. » expertise of academic support programs such as tutoring, supplemental instruction, and academic coaching. Research » Conduct program-related research, including collecting, organizing, and analyzing data and presenting findings. » Track student data to analyze program efficacy. » Utilize data to identify necessary processes, systems, and improvements for effective program operation. » Track student progress all over the semester and in subsequent semesters. Supervision and Administration » Supervise the LU Tutoring Lab as needed. » Support everyday program operations, including promoting services and resources, assisting with scheduling, answering student questions, and supervising student employees. » Conduct student-employee interviews. » Complete other tasks as assigned. Communication » Meet regularly with the adjunct Director to discuss program objectives and needs. » Communicate with student-employee team members. » Promote student consciousness of all programs/services offered. » Participate in outreach and tabling events. Physical Requirements (with or without accommodation): » Visual acuity to read written or printed text on screens or paper. » capability to communicate effectively verbally and/or through writing. » Manual dexterity for writing, typing, and reaching. » capability to move safely to and from various buildings across campus. » capability to lift and move objects no heavier than 20 pounds. Job Conditions » Work is indoors and sedentary. » Schedule is subject to change according to student worker availcapability and department need. Minimum Appropriate qualifications: » 3.5 cumulative GPA in graduate coursework, 3.0 in undergraduate coursework. » Must be a currently enrolled graduate student for the Fall 2024 semester and Spring 2025 semester. » At least one semester's practice teaching or working in an academic support setting such as tutoring services, supplemental instruction, academic coaching, and/or writing instruction preferred.
