Position DetailsPosition InformationPosting Number: 2022151 Classification Title: Position Title: adjunct Professor, Art Education, Tenure-Track FTE: 1.0 FLSA: income: Commensurate Job Summary/Basic Function: About this function: The Lamar University Department of Art & Design invites applications for adjunct Professor of Art Education with appointment beginning Fall 2025. The prosperous candidate will teach undergraduate courses in art education (in person, hybrid, and possibly online), supervise clinical teachers, and additional courses and tasks as assigned according to the needs of the department and qualifications of the applicant. The adjunct Professor of Art Education will liaison with the College of Education and Human Development to assist in preparing students majoring in art education for state requirements regarding teacher certification. Additional tasks include supervising and documenting clinical teaching, assessment reports for the university, state and accrediting boards, and other service activities, including outreach with regional teachers and students and coordinating art camps for junior high and high school students. The adjunct Professor of Art Education will have a teaching and observation supervision assignment of the equivalent of the university required 4/4 (twelve-hour) course load each semester assigned according to skills and practice. All faculty members are expected to maintain an active research or creative activity record, demonstrate commitment to teaching excellence and student success, and contribute significantly to departmental and university service. In addition, the position responsibilities include collaborative engagement within the department and university, and providing leadership abilities in curriculum for our undergraduate programs, serving on department, college and university committees.
