Primary Purpose of Department Accredited by AACSB International, the Belk College of Business at UNC Charlotte offers outstanding business education programs in a variety of disciplines. The College has approximately 4,200 undergraduate students, 550 graduate students, and more than 100 full-time faculty members. The Belk College of Business Dean's Office provides leadership abilities and management of the College. Within the Dean's Office, the Senior Associate Dean (SrAD) is responsible for all activities related to the college's academic programs, research activities, and faculty administration.

Primary Purpose of Position Within the Dean's Office, the Senior Associate Dean (SrAD) is responsible for all activities related to the College's academic programs, research activities, faculty, and staff. This position reports directly to the SrAD, serving as a strategic advisor and providing insight, leadership abilities, and management for academic planning, accreditation, assessment, and oversight of international programs within the Belk College of Business.

Summary of Position Responsibilities The Director of Academic Planning and Accreditation:
   » Provides direction and oversight for academic planning, accreditation, and assessment processes within the College
   » Manages the College's continuous improvement review efforts to maintain AACSB accreditation
   » Ensures compliance with University standards and readiness for SACSCOC accreditation
   » Advances the College's curriculum development
   » supervises the College's academic course scheduling
   » Represents the College on University assessment efforts and contacts with central administration on assessment and accreditation efforts
   » Supervises one full-time staff members on the SrAD team
Minimum Education/practice
   » Graduation from a four-year accredited college or university and at least three years of higher education program, project, or accreditation practice, or an equivalent combination of training and practice.
   » expertise of student learning results assessment practices in higher education and accreditation practice is essential.
   » Exceptional project management, organizational, and prioritization expertise, demonstrated capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and the capability to exercise high degree of professionalism in interactions with all levels of internal and external constituencies is required.
Preferred Education, expertise, expertise and practice
   » The preferred candidate for this position will have a master's degree in a significant field.
   » The preferred candidate for this position will have at least three years of progressive administrative practice in higher education.
   » This position requires excellent writing and communication expertise and practice drafting and editing reports, working collaboratively and prosperously with faculty and staff, and interacting effectively as a leader and as a member of a team.
   » practice with AACSB accreditation, higher education curriculum development, academic course scheduling, and using Watermark Faculty Success is preferred.
