Special Conditions: The University Libraries is a technologically oriented academic research library which provides foundational service and support for the deployment, maintenance, use, and integration of emerging technologies of all types for the University Libraries' faculty, staff, and user communities. While performing this job's tasks, the employee must communicate with multiple constituents through written, verbal, and auditory communication. Employees must be able to perceive written, digital, and auditory information either with or without accommodation. The employee must be able to independently navigate the campus and manipulate objects within the office space.
Although not a primary function of the job, the employee may be required/asked to lift up to 50 lbs. Reasonable and appropriate accommodation may be requested.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
From time to time, the work schedule might be modified to meet needs of the library.

Working Conditions: While performing the tasks of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to stand; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Job tasks

tasks & Job responsibilities: Provides leadership abilities for the lending function of the libraries' interlibrary loan program.
Receives and processes requests from other libraries to borrow materials, of all types, from the collections of the University Libraries using ILLiad, WorldShareILL, RAPID, SHAREit, and/or other appropriate resource sharing tools.
Locates requested materials and subsequently scans, copies, and/or packages item as appropriate.
Creates and/or updates records in the appropriate electronic systems so that each transaction can be tracked and counted.
Assists with training and supervising student workers assigned to the ILL/DD Office.
Reports problems and malfunctions in the ILL operation to the manager and colleagues as appropriate.
Provides feedback on efficiency and accuracy of lending procedures to manager(s).

tasks & Job responsibilities: Maintains appropriate records related to lending activities.
Monitors statistics related to the lending of library materials and reconciles any discrepancies.
Maintains information related to charges that accrue to other libraries through lending, fully utilizing the tools available within the ILL management software.
Maintains accurate and current documentation for the lending processes

tasks & Job responsibilities: Provides direct assistance to library users.
Assists library users by answering general and/or directional questions in person, via the telephone, or electronically.
Makes referrals to the RIS desk or other appropriate resource within the library or on campus.
Cross trains in other interlibrary loan/document delivery functions and/or other general library functions in order to meet user and library needs.
