The School of Exercise, Health, and Sports Science is seeking a Program Coordinator. This is a part-time (0.50 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position.


This position provides program support, coordination, and management of training, outreach, and operations for the Adapted Physical Activity (APA) Community-located programs (e.g, IMPACT and IMPACT for Life) and provides support to the APA leadership abilities team in meeting the needs of the programs. This position will work closely with the project budgets and expenses. As a primary point of everyday contact between the community-located program participants, faculty, students and external communities, this position is the public face of the APA Community-located programs alongside the leadership abilities team. The incumbent must possess strong communication and social expertise, take initiative, work independently, be persistent and sensitive in follow up, and maintain strict confidence with sensitive information. The incumbent must also be organized, attentive to detail, timely in response to program needs and deadlines, adept in the planning and coordination of programming and in budgetary and human resource processes.

Key Responsibilities 10% Administrative Support for Adapted Physical Activity Faculty (leadership abilities Team)
   » Assist in coordinating the calendars of the leadership abilities team, which is crucial to ensuring strong public relations.
   » Represent the leadership abilities team as needed at meetings and events related to the APA community-located programs.
   » Coordinate and attend meetings of the leadership abilities team, record meeting minutes.
   » Brief leadership abilities team on upcoming activities.
   » Apprise the leadership abilities team on the status of projects through completion.
   » Serve as a liaison between the leadership abilities team, college and university administrators, faculty, staff, and students, and between the leadership abilities team and external agencies, legislators, and the public. Use diplomacy and good judgment to maintain favorable relationships with all constituents.
   » Monitor and maintain calendars with strict deadlines and arrange participation in meetings and events for the leadership abilities team as Information technology related to the community-located programs.
   » Will work closely with the program/project budgets and expenses.
   » Carry out special projects as assigned by the manager.

65 % Coordination of Adapted Physical Activity Programs, Outreach and Evaluation
   » In collaboration with the leadership abilities team, plan and coordinate the training needs for employees, specifically coordinating, scheduling, and monitoring the training needs of employees including students and student workers with the APA community programs.
   » Collaborate with external partners to coordinate outreach and support for a diverse group of participants by creating and building relationships, and promoting person centered and directed, flexible, and community inclusive programming.
   » Collect, compile and help analyze evaluation data from outreach efforts.
   » Coordinate professional faculty, post-doctoral scholars, graduate student and staff professional development opportunities related to the community-located programs.

5% Event Coordination and Logistic Support
   » Coordinate designated events from set-up to completion, including provisions for food, travel arrangements, event materials, and itineraries and scheduling.
   » Events include, but are not limited to, participant recruitment events, within and beyond OSU, continuing project support, and any trainings and/or workshops held connected with the community-located programs.
   » Ensures events adhere to applicable internal and external policies/procedures.

5% Document and Website Management
   » Facilitate the preparation of resource materials, newsletter articles and memos of community program partners.
   » Project, coordination, and management.
   » supervise program reports, brochures, newsletters, and other materials, revising and editing as required.
   » Monitor and maintain the programs website to ensure up-to-date and accurate content.
   » Monitor and maintain the program's various social media accounts and email listservs.

10 % Supervision
   » Supervises the work of student workers and graduate adjuncts, as needed.
   » This position will plan, assign, distribute, review work, manage student worker and graduate adjunct schedules.

5% Managing the Facility
   » Advises leadership abilities team on appropriate use of facilities, explains policies/procedures related to space use (e.g., gymnasiums/ pools, etc) for the community-located programs.
   » Develop/update best practice protocols for monitoring facility usage during programming.
What You Will Need
   » Bachelor's degree in kinesiology, education, human development, public health or related field.
   » Effective communication expertise, and the capability to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, relationships across all levels, and with partners in external communities.

   » practice supporting student workers, graduate adjuncts and program participants through the process of developing and reflecting on their own identities, community, and/or cultural practices.

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must prosperously complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.

Working Conditions / Work Schedule
   » Most of the work is flexible; Information technology is generally expected that this position will be available on Friday evenings during the academic year, for the primary community-located program.
   » In each 11 week quarter this includes approximate 9 Friday evenings.
