Job Summary The Division of Extension and Engagement and its Partnerships Unit are seeking an Open Campus & Juntos Coordinator. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position. This position has funding available for two years. This position may continue beyond the initial two years if additional funds become available. The Oregon State University (OSU) Open Campus & Juntos Coordinator is a member of the OSU Division of Extension and Engagement's Partnerships Unit and Chemeketa Community College. As a team member of the Partnerships Unit, which includes the Juntos and Open Campus Programs, this professional faculty position will have regional and statewide responsibilities. This Coordinator will serve the Oregon Western region, primarily Yamhill and Polk counties. This shared position will be located at Chemeketa Community College-Yamhill Valley Campus, but may also work from the OSU Extension Yamhill County office. Decisions regarding this position will be made in consultation with the supervision team. This Open Campus & Juntos Coordinator will provide local leadership abilities, coordination and foster partnerships needed to advance and sustain Open Campus and Juntos programs and goals. This individual will advance partnerships between Oregon State University, Chemeketa Community College and local school districts within Yamhill and Polk counties, as well as community-located organizations. As a team member of OSU Partnerships Unit and Chemeketa Community College, this Open Campus & Juntos Coordinator will support the primary missions and goals of each as well. This position requires traveling to conduct programming, meet with students and families, connect with internal and external partners, as well as to fulfill the general work requirements of this position. The individual in this shared position also serves as a broad source of information regarding the transfer process from community college to any four-year college and/or university. Statewide tasks would include managing higher education partnerships and statewide Juntos facilitator relationships and support; looking for and creating opportunities for partnerships between the University, partnering organizations, and community members; and delivering educational presentations at community events. This position includes activities primarily on-site at Chemeketa Community College but regular weekly travel is expected all over Yamhill and Polk Counties to work with prospective students who are interested in transferring and for community events and presentations. In partnership with the Open Campus & Juntos Coordinator serving Marion County, this position may also do some programming and student support in neighboring counties. Some travel to Corvallis is expected (an average of 3-4 visits per year to Corvallis). Occasional evening and weekend work is required. This Open Campus & Juntos Coordinator is responsible for designing, developing, maintaining and/or carrying out educational programming and outreach activities to serve broad and diverse populations in an accessible, inclusive, equitable, and socially just manner. This includes complying with civil rights and language/visual access regulations. The Division has built the capacity and expectation for employees to use digital communications and technologies in the modern-day workplace. About Partnerships Unit: The Division of Extension and Engagement's Partnerships Unit has a focus on community engagement, development of learning opportunities, and increasing access to post-secondary education. OSU Partnerships Unit works in collaboration with Oregon State University, the Association of Oregon Counties, Oregon's Community Colleges, regional economic development groups, the K-12 education systems, the business communities and local government. The goal of OSU Partnerships Unit is to provide community and economic development, career and college access, and degree completion/support. The OSU Open Campus Program is a program designed to support Oregon high school students with post-secondary enrollment and college access as well as trade and technical institutional support. Open Campus partners with Oregon Community Colleges, Oregon public universities, and community engagement programs to deliver local programming. The goal of OSU Open Campus is to provide local access to learning that meets the needs of individuals, families, businesses, and communities. The OSU Juntos Program is culturally responsive program that partners with Oregon school systems K-12 and community engagement programs to further enhance and empower the Latinx student practice.
