Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill up to four, part-time (a maximum of 20 hours per week) Student Info Tech (Outdoor School Website adjunct) positions for the Outdoor School program at Oregon State University (OSU).

The OSU Extension Service Outdoor School program serves Oregon's School Districts in their efforts to send 5th and 6th grade students to outdoor school. A vital part of this program is our website, the portal through which the school districts and teachers can access the application and reporting systems as well as resources for developing new outdoor school programs or improving existing programs.

This student adjunct will work with the Operations Manager and a student project manager to transfer the content of our existing website content management system (CMS) into our new CMS (Drupal). Our goal is to maintain the quality and functionality of our website while implementing design changes that will improve the user practice.

Position tasks Each student worker will be responsible for transferring up to 30 pages of the existing layout and content of the Outdoor School program website (Umbraco 8) into the new website (Drupal). Training and documentation for the Drupal CMS will be provided. Students must work a minimum of 10 hours per week (up to 40 hours per week prior to the start of the term) and they must report for work to at and work from the Outdoor School program offices.

These students will be supervised by the Outdoor School program Operations Manager and will receive assignments from her as well as from the student project manager. These student workers may be asked to execute other tasks or tasks (unrelated to website maintenance) as appropriate. These other tasks include but are not limited to: managing/translating/analyzing datasets or contact lists, creating/managing spreadsheets, and other basic office tasks.

   » Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
   » Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
   » Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
   » High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
   » Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
   » Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
   » Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
   » Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*

*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered ?full-time? by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.

Additional Required Qualifications candidates must:
   » have practice working efficiently, with attention to detail, and showing progress daily
   » demonstrate excellent communication expertise - both written and verbal
   » be self-motivated and able to work independently and with others
Preferred (Special) Qualifications candidates preferably should have:
   » practice with website design and/or population using Drupal
   » basic HTML/CSS expertise and skill
