Position Title: Adult Basic Education GED/HSD Instructor (Multiple Positions)

General Description: In conjunction with appropriate members of the Center test,
diagnose, organize, schedule and instruct in Adult Basic expertise including GED/ HSD preparation.

Characteristics, tasks, and Job responsibilities: • Administers appropriate assessment instruments. Assists in making interpretations and recommendations from diagnostic activities, in consultation with the client.

• Prescribes from individual employcapability plans and contributes to monthly evaluations of progress in program, makes recommendations and/or adaptation for program adjustment.

• Contributes to curriculum development through design of modular learning packets attuned to learning level objectives.

• Provides basic expertise and GED/HSD instruction appropriate to individual and group's needs.

• Participates in the general activities of the instructional unit, including personal development, program planning, and center-related events.

• Travel to all campuses and satellite locations as needed.

• Accepts all other assignments which help CEWD realize contractual goals.

• Respond to all program requests.

• Travel to all campuses and satellite locations as needed.

• Other tasks as assigned by unit manager and CEWD administration.

• At all times exercise professionalism and confidentiality with staff and students.

• Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports

Education Requirements: Bachelor's Degree required. Master's degree preferred.
NJ Teachers Certification preferred

Physical Demands and Work Environment: • This position's tasks are normally performed in a typical interior/residence work environment, located on the activity scheduled.

• Some physical effort required; however, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

• No or very limited exposure to physical risk.

• Some travel required.

Grant Positions:

Position will be terminated upon expiration of grant funding. Part-time, up to twenty (20) hours per week and nine hundred ninety (990) hours during the calendar year. Employment is renewable on or after July 1st of each year at the discretion of CEWD Administration.
