Job Opportunity: Engagement Intern:WETAJob description: Engagement Intern Listing description listing title:Engagement Intern Reports to:Senior Director, Outreach Status:Full -Time, Non - Exempt Hourly Rate:$18.00 Preferred Year in School: » Rising Junior » Rising Senior POSITION OVERVIEW: The intern for the Outreach and Engagement department at WETA will support various assignments, including writing, events management, data compilation, marketing, and web research. They will also support grant-funded work centered around early childhood programming. This work includes developing materials, content, and activities, as well as logistics and communication with community partners and volunteers. Interns will work directly with families and children in a variety of settings, such as schools, libraries, and childcare centers.Candidates must be an active college student or a recent graduate (within the past year). PRIMARY Job responsibilities: » The intern will work alongside the education manager on grant-funded events and educational workshops, including onsite/virtual support, logistics, registration, marketing, and distribution of follow-up materials. » Research various topics, such as digital and media literacy, working with Indigenous Latinx communities, and computational thinking in early education. » Gather and process data collected from participants and partners via surveys, informal assessments, and anecdotal notes. » The intern will create and distribute educational materials on a range of topics related to our educational initiatives. These materials will be designed for educators, families, and community partners. » Write summative reports of the impact & results of events. DESIRED EDUCATION/practice: Preferred Major: Education (Early Childhood/Elementary). We will accept English, Communications and Journalism majors as well.
