Job Summary This recruitment will be used to fill one full-time Program Representative 2 position for the College of Agricultural Sciences at Oregon State University (OSU).

The Program Representative 2 will assist in the external research development endeavors of the College of Agricultural Sciences (CAS)/Oregon Agricultural Experiment Station (OAES) personnel (including adjunct and courtesy appointees) and will advise faculty, staff, and graduate students on proper institutional and agency specific guidelines, policies, and procedures to improve effectiveness in identifying and submitting externally sponsored project applications.

This position ensures that vital interactions with state and federal agencies, private industries, other stakeholders and the public are effectively and efficiently maintained including representing the College in meetings and events at the local and national level.

This position directly supports the activities of the College of Agricultural Sciences (CAS) Director of Sponsored Program Services.

Key Responsibilities 55% Sponsored Research Program Assistance
Assist manager in the promotion and operations of externally funded research programs.

Assist faculty and researchers in developing grant proposals by providing guidance on formatting, budgeting, compliance requirements, and writing support.

Work directly with faculty (face-to-face, telephone, or web-located conferencing) to advise on program requirements, help interpret regulations, and assist, as needed, on getting clarity from agencies or institutional advisors.

Work with researchers to develop accurate project budgets, including personnel, equipment, supplies, travel, and indirect costs, ensuring compliance with funder and university guidelines.

Work with manager and other team members to identify and communicate potential funding opportunities from government agencies, private foundations, and other sources that align with the research interests of faculty and researchers.

Review grant proposals for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with funder guidelines and university policies. Ensure that grant proposals meet all regulatory and compliance requirements, including human subjects research, animal care and use, biosafety, and export controls. Prepare any institutionally required materials.

Stay informed about changes in funding agency policies, grant application procedures, and best practices in research administration through professional development activities and networking.

Assist with policy and procedure guides and templates for program participants.

35% Administrative Support
Assist with agency application process, such as budget development, the format of documents and completing application forms in required modules.

Track applications (e.g. request for funding) moving through the College of Agricultural Sciences proposal routing system and collect data for various programmatic queries.

Assist with program development meetings, workshops, and logistics such as invitations, room reservations, material preparation, and other tasks as needed.

Provide support for databases of grant opportunities, awarded grants, and pending proposals to track progress and facilitate reporting and analytics in support of research funding.

5% Professional Development
Participate in training and development opportunities provided by Oregon State University, regional, state, and national organizations.

5% Other tasks as assigned.

What We Require
Four years of technical- or professional-level practice analyzing or advising and/or instructing the public concerning specific programs or processes, monitoring a program, or performing participant reviews. Two years of the practice must have been comparable to a Program Representative 1 which involves monitoring, representing, and reviewing programs.

Demonstrated skills in the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word.

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must prosperously complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
