Work Schedule 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; Monday - Friday with evening and weekend hours required, as necessary. Frequent overnight travel required. Option to work in the house 1 day per week after training is complete.

Primary Purpose of Position This employee is responsible communicating the admission policies, procedures, and opportunities available at the university to students, parents and community college personnel. The employee is responsible for making admissions decisions on transfer and second degree student applications. The employee has total authority to accept, deny or defer a student's application to the university. The decision and evaluation made by this employee commits UNC Charlotte to a binding contract with the applicant. Their decisions are not reviewed by their manager or the Director of Admissions. This position will receive a year long training program to become an expert in the decision making field. The admission of students is essential to the mission of the university to educate the people in North Carolina and other states and nations. This employee is part of transfer team that is responsible for the recruitment of prospective transfer students primarily focusing on students transferring from NC community colleges. This includes developing a travel and communication plan targeting community college transfers. The position requires broad travel across the state to represent UNC Charlotte at college fairs, classroom presentations, and meetings with academic advisors at NC community colleges. This position will assist the planning and coordination of on and off-campus events targeted at transfer student populations. This position may also assist with freshmen recruitment and application review as needed.

Minimum Education/practice Required Minimum Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and practice. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

University Preferred Appropriate qualifications:

Graduation from a four-year college or university and two years of administrative or office management practice in the student services or related field; or equivalent.

Essential Job tasks
   » Counsel and advise prospective transfer students on admissions requirements, policies and procedures in-person, via phone and email.
   » Render admissions decisions on transfer applications, applying appropriate criteria and using discernment and good judgement
   » Travel broadly to NC community colleges to conduct information sessions for prospective students, attend college fairs, and meet with counselors/advisors.
   » Develop relationships with community college advisors.
   » Develop a transfer communication plan.
   » Assist in the planning and coordination of on and off-campus transfer events.
Other Work Responsibilities
   » Assist with training new staff members on transfer admission requirements and policies
   » Make recommendations for changes to transfer admission practices located upon practice
   » Assists with freshmen recruitment and application review as needed.
