Offer: Producer I:KET- Kentucky Educational TelevisionJob description: Producer I Listing description Kentucky Educational Television, (KET) has the following full-time position opening at its Lexington or Louisville, Kentucky Network Center: Producer I KET is Kentucky's only statewide media organization, serving more than two million people each week with programs and services that educate, inform, and inspire. In addition to broadcasting PBS programming, KET produces a variety of award-winning local productions and creates high quality, nationally recognized educational resources. As a member of our team, you'll help bring learning to life for viewers and users in Kentucky. Located in the Bluegrass region of Kentucky, Lexington is a beautiful and growing community. As a Producer I, the individual selected for this function will research, develop, write, and produce short-form pieces and segments for KET mission-located productions contributing to our general content production team, telling stories centered around the culture, arts, history and heritage of Kentucky among other topics. Our ideal Candidate will: supervise all content elements and coordinate and execute all aspects of assigned productions including researching, developing, and writing production proposals, and conducting pre-production meetings with content experts. Direct crew and talent on studio and field productions, initiate the scheduling of travel and accommodations for crew and talent. Operate professional cameras as needed. Create professional rough edits in a timely and efficient manner. supervise online edit sessions and all aspects of post-production including graphics creation, color correction, and audio post. Accurately log and categorize all program and raw footage files for digital archiving. Be responsible for the preparation and maintenance of records necessary for production, broadcast, and digital use including facilities requests, budgets, rights, contracts, music cue sheets, releases, copyright information, operational records, and reports. Contribute to content distribution across multiple platforms, strengthening digital capacity, and integrating digital production into the everyday workflow. Contribute to and execute the creative and editorial vision of KET productions. Effectively collaborate with team members on equipment by sharing expertise, expertise, and production processes. Produce promotional spots for assigned productions as needed; provide accurate and timely information to the Marketing and Traffic departments. supervise and package program deliverables according to established formats required by KET, NETA, APT, or PBS. Demonstrate dedication to diversity in areas of responsibility. Perform other tasks as assigned to support the mission of the organization. prosperous candidates will have the following minimum qualifications, expertise, and practice: Bachelor's degree in a related field plus a minimum of two (2) years of television production practice preferred. Practical practice in television may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis. practice with professional video cameras is required. Editing practice and directing finishing edit sessions is required. Must have strong computer, writing, oral communications, and interpersonal expertise. Must be available on a flexible schedule and for weekend and overnight travel. Must be able to move/lift/carry equipment weighing up to 40 pounds. Occasionally required to operate equipment while standing/sitting for extended periods of time. Must maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times. Must maintain a valid driver's license to drive KET vehicles. Working with KET has its benefits!
