Minimum practice/Education Faculty teaching undergraduate courses: doctorate or master's degree in the teaching discipline or master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline.

Faculty teaching graduate courses: earned doctorate / terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline. UNC Charlotte gives primary consideration to the highest earned degree in the discipline.

UNC Charlotte also considers competence, effectiveness, and capacity, including, as appropriate, undergraduate and graduate degrees, related work practices in the field, professional licensure and certifications, honors and awards, continuous documented excellence in teaching, or other demonstrated competencies and achievements that contribute to effective teaching and student learning results.

Departmental Preferred practice, expertise, Training/suitable education Preferred M.A. or Ph.D. in I/O Psychology plus 5 or more years of work practice in organizational strategy, change, effectiveness, and/or leader development
OR
Preferred M.B.A. or M.A. or M.S. in Human Resources plus 15 or more years of Human Resources practice, including organizational change, and graduate level teaching practice.

tasks and Responsibilities UNC Charlotte is accepting applications for adjunct or part-time faculty. These positions are temporary and usually involve teaching a particular course or courses for a particular semester. These positions are temporary and do not accrue benefits.

Teaching PSYC 6175 for Summer I 2025. This advanced course will provide students with an knowledge of organizational development and change, including a set of tools for leading change. The focus of the course is about the use of tools, approaches and practices to enable organizational improvements leading to the creation of sustainable performance through the engagement and collaboration of people. A critical component will be on leading change from within organizations and knowledge the significance of the individual in the change process.
Readings consist of articles and chapters written by leading change consultants and academics specializing in organizational development and change. Through readings, assignments and class discussions, we will address organizational change issues such as how to create urgency for change, how to create and communicate a vision, overcoming resistance to change, balancing the business impact, people influence with all implementation plans, living with continuous change, and designing organizational practices to support change.

Skill Requirements:
Knowledge of specific techniques for identifying need for organizational change readiness for change and implementing change
capability to diagnose, design, deploy, and evaluate change programs in organizations
Skill in diagnosing characteristics needed and functions of individuals in the organizational change process
Knowledge of process models of organizational change
Personal and team leadership abilities expertise
capability to utilize Zoom and Canvas for online learning, (if needed)

Responsibilities could include: Developing and/or updating course syllabus, preparation of lectures, projects, or other student assignments, meeting all designated class periods, maintaining regularly scheduled office hours, grading student assignments and exams in a timely manner, submitting completed mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to University regulations.
