Job Summary The College of Business invites applications for a combined position as Instructor and Program Manager for Student Engagement. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, combined fixed term and professional faculty position.

The position reports directly to the adjunct Director for Student Engagement in the College of Business. The purpose of this position is to provide instruction within the College's first year BA160 series, BA101, Professional Development and Blueprint Courses and support the overall management of the wide variety of Student Engagement Programs. This person is responsible for providing leadership abilities and direction for student success programs for current College of Business students. The incumbent will hold two appointments, a 0.75 FTE fixed-term position as Instructor and a 0.25 FTE professional faculty position, reflecting job tasks in both the academic and administrative arenas.

This position is responsible for the instruction, curriculum development, classroom management, and superviseing academic projects as part of the Student Engagement curriculum. Teaching assignments may include course delivery in any format - site-located in-person, asynchronous online, or hybrid combinations of online, site-located in-person, and/or remote instruction.

This position is responsible for the coordination of tasks that provide wrap around services for College of Business students including (but not limited to): student employee coordination and support, Academic Success initiatives, mentoring programs, living-learning partnerships, and managing academic support spaces such as The Arch and The Commons. Additionally, this position will support Innovation Nation programming, course curriculum, maintaining best practices for academic success within the College of Business, as well as other assigned programs within Innovation Nation and Student Engagement.

This position will participate in strategic planning efforts that support the mission, vision, and goals for the College of Business as Information technology pertains to the Student Engagement program.

Key Responsibilities 67.5% - Classroom Management & Programming:
   » Supports and teaches courses under the Student Engagement team (small lecture courses, and large lecture recitation courses).
   » Trains, supervises/mentors, and evaluates student teaching adjuncts.
   » Works with Student Engagement's staff, student workers and faculty to identify and implement enhanced events tied to Student Engagement to promote the success of students in collaboration with faculty, alumni and industry representatives.
   » Provides support for Student Engagement teaching team, including but not limited to: creating course content and curriculum, designing student and team assignments and exams, grading, and facilitating classroom functions, etc.
   » Supports the onboarding of first year and transfer students through orientation and welcome week programming.
   » Manages Innovation Nation's student-run microbusiness projects.
   » Collaborates with the adjunct Director of Student Engagement in planning programs that contribute to the program's mission.
   » Meets 1:1 with students to provide holistic support.
   » Interacts with a variety of internal and external customers (e.g., staff, student adjuncts, business owners, students and their families, companies, outside speakers, faculty, classified and administrative personnel in the college and all over the university, vendors, and program sponsors) by phone, in person, electronically (website/email), etc.
   » Contribute to social justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion efforts; provide mentoring and opportunities for students from underrepresented groups; enable the advancement of diverse perspectives; and promote equitable results among learners of diverse and underrepresented identity groups.

22.5% - Student Success Programming:
   » Manages the College of Businesses academic support centers, the Arch, and the Commons.
   » Supports assessment strategies across the first year and blueprint series, incorporating diverse perspectives to address the needs of underrepresented student populations.
   » Supports peer mentoring all over the college of business, promoting a culturally competent mentoring environment.
   » Collaborates with living-learning community partners to support first year students who live on-campus.
   » Identifies gaps in academic support systems for students in the College of Business and builds programs to improve the academic success of all students, prioritizing equitable access and inclusive practices.
   » Works with Student Engagement's staff, student workers and faculty to identify and implement enhanced events to promote the success of students, faculty, and alumni.
   » Provides leadership abilities and strategy for academic success support and tutoring in conjunction with College of Business needs.
   » Collaborates on the hiring and training of student and staff needed, ensuring diverse and inclusive recruitment and training practices.
   » Evaluates academic success programs and initiatives goals and results, recommending changes annually.
   » Collects and analyzes data and recommends programming and process improvements accordingly.
   » Keeps records and documents processes, ensuring transparency and accessibility of information.
10% - Service/Special Projects:
   » Engage in activities within the University and the profession, including contributing to College and University strategic initiatives that support DEI efforts and foster a more inclusive academic community. Serve on college and/or University committees, attend professional conferences or other trainings, and participate in college/University events as required.
   » Collaborates with the adjunct Director of Student Engagement in planning programs that contribute to the program's mission.
   » Plans, assigns, and reviews work regarding program logistics, providing coordination and skills to the program, while ensuring an inclusive and supportive environment for all staff and students. Coordinates student work schedules and trains, supervises/mentors, and evaluates student adjuncts.
   » Disciplines or effectively recommends discipline, ensuring fair and equitable treatment for all staff and students.
   » Write letters of recommendation, as requested.
What You Will Need
   » Master's degree in Business, Education, College Student Services and Administration, or a closely related field from an accredited university.
   » practice with supporting students in their personal, professional and academic pursuits in a higher education setting.
   » Demonstrated commitment to educational equity in a multicultural setting and a commitment to advancing the participation of diverse groups and supporting diverse perspectives.
   » Demonstrated record of effective teaching at a high school level or accredited university.
   » Excellent written and verbal communication skills, utilizing inclusive language and the capability to communicate with tact and diplomacy across diverse cultural boundaries.
   » Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
   » High computer proficiency; required qualifications include: strong MS office practice with Word, PowerPoint, Excel and working expertise of Outlook and Windows/Mac.
