Position Summary: The Department of Counseling, Educational Psychology and Research seeks a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track faculty member for the Counseling Psychology program, beginning August 18, 2025. The Counseling Psychology program is APA-accredited and emphasizes the development of professional competencies, a balanced scientist-practitioner training model, and the preparation of graduates for a wide variety of clinical and academic settings. The CEPR department and Counseling Psychology program are dedicated to fostering a climate of belonging and inclusiveness. The CEPR department is not able to offer visa sponsorship. Job responsibilities:
The hire will be appointed as a tenure-track faculty member in the Department of Counseling, Educational Psychology and Research and will be expected to teach graduate courses in the Counseling Psychology doctoral and Counseling masters programs, supervise Counseling Psychology doctoral student research, mentor students, participate in national professional organizations and university and college committees, and maintain an active program of research that includes seeking external funding. Specific teaching responsibilities will include courses in cognitive and personality assessment. Additional courses could include courses in research methods, diversity (gender, LGBTQ+, international, and multicultural counseling), clinical supervision, vocational psychology, or health psychology. Research interest areas are open, but we encourage candidates interested in forensic/correctional psychology, health psychology, or diversity science in psychology to apply.

SETTING
The Department of Counseling, Educational Psychology and Research (CEPR) offers five graduate certificates, five master's, and three doctoral degrees in its three principal areas. The department's programs are accredited by the American Psychological Association, the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs, and the Council for Rehabilitation Counselor Education (see www.memphis.edu/cepr). The College of Education, with 82 faculty and over 30 degree programs, is fully accredited by CAEP and is a leader in enhancing teacher and principal preparation. income & BEGINNING DATE
income will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications. The position (#003202) is a nine-month tenure track appointment with the possibility of summer teaching located on departmental needs. The anticipated date of appointment is August 18, 2025. The University offers an excellent benefits package, including healthcare and retirement. The state of TN currently has no state earnings tax and the Memphis area has a very reasonable cost of living.

Minimum Position Appropriate qualifications: Required
· Earned doctoral degree (obtained by August 10, 2025) in Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited program
· Evidence of an emerging (adjunct) or established (Associate ) research agenda and publication record
· Psychology licensure or license eligibility in the State of Tennessee
Desired
• Evidence of funded grant awards or participation in funded projects
• practice teaching graduate courses (in-person, online or hybrid format)
• Interest or practice in teaching cognitive and personality assessment
• practice providing clinical supervision, including supervision of cognitive and personality assessment
• Interest in serving in the Training Director/Co-Training Director function (Associate)
