Noted for its commitment to sustainable design, the firm has been recognized through local, national, and international design excellence awards and feature articles in the most prestigious design publications. The practice encompasses corporate, civic, cultural, educational, transportation, residential, hospitality, office, retail, and mixed-use projects on a variety of scales. We are currently accepting applications for a talented Zoning/Pre-Design Architect who can assist in the production of pre-design practiccapability studies for complex mixed use projects in NYC. Position Job responsibilities: » Research zoning constraints for complex mixed-use projects in NYC. » Prepare practiccapability studies including concept level floor plans, massing diagrams and area summaries. » Prepare presentation drawings including urban design analysis diagrams, illustrative site plans and massing views for larger Urban Design projects. » Interact with consultants. Position Requirements: » Minimum 5-10 years related practice. » Have practice working with the NYC Zoning Resolution and an knowledge of the NYC rezoning process. » Able to work across multiple scales, with practice working on large teams on complex neighborhood scale planning projects to working on small teams producing practiccapability studies for complex mixed-use buildings. » Must have familiarity with various building types and planning standards. » Work practice at NYC Department of City Planning preferred or other similar city agencies. » Must be proactive, detail-oriented and a self-starter, able to prioritize and multi-task. » A graduate of an accredited Masters or Bachelor of Architecture or Urban Design/Planning degree program or related combination. » LEED accredited preferred. » Candidate should be proficient with 2D, 3D, graphic and other related design software.
