Job detail Civil Staff Engineer Requisition Number: 2024-1350-28 Are you an engineering graduate seeking a challenging opportunity with a firm committed to our employees and providing excellence? S&ME is seeking an eager and dedicated full-time Civil Staff Engineer to join our Energy team in Charlotte, North Carolina . About the function: As a Civil Staff Engineer , you'll play a vital function in designing and developing projects for Energy, Industrial, and Government clients, ranging from reservoirs and dams to landfills and stormwater management. Under the guidance of Professional Engineers, you'll engage in conceptual design, engineering analysis, detailed calculations, and cost estimating. Your day-to-day tasks will include preparing drawings, specifications, and reports, as well as conducting site inspections. You'll also assist with grading plans, stormwater, and utility systems design, permitting, and seamlessly communicate with clients, ensuring projects are both innovative and efficient. About You: » You have a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related field » You have 0-3 years of progressive practice in civil engineering design projects (including site/land development, and utilities) » You are eligible for the Professional Engineer's (P.E.) exam within 4-5 years » You are well-organized with the capability to multi-task and prioritize work » You have excellent verbal and written communication expertise » You have previous exposure to AutoCAD, Civil3D, stormwater and utility modeling programs, a plus Are You Willing and Able to: Perform the physical demands of the position with the use of company-provide Personal Protective Equipment such as: » Working outdoors in varying weather conditions » Traveling out-of-town (typically overnight) for assignments as necessary » Working outside of normal business hours when necessary About S&ME: For over 50 years, S&ME has delivered innovative solutions in geotechnical, civil, environmental, and construction materials, tackling our clients' toughest challenges.
