Primary Purpose of Department The Human Resources Department maintains responsibility for the development and execution of all policies, programs, and strategies designed to recruit, assist, motivate, develop, promote, compensate, compensate, and retain the best qualified employees while supporting continued University growth with a focus on cultivating a diverse workforce. In addition, Human Resources identifies and provides students with significant, and developmental, on-campus employment opportunities.

Primary Purpose of Position This position is responsible for driving process improvement initiatives across the department. This position will provide significant information and metrics for direction and project management to the leadership abilities team across multiple areas in the Human Resources Department.

The Project and Process Excellence Manager is responsible for Identifying, developing, implementing, training, and communicating strategic projects and processes across the human resources department that involve cross-functional collaboration, including teams and stakeholders within Talent Acquisition & Compliance, Position & Performance Management & Compensation, Learning & Organizational Development, Benefits, Employee Retention and Engagement and Employee Relations.

This position is directly responsible for executing the planning and organization in alignment with the Human Resources and Business Affairs priorities and goals for the university. This will include projects to address areas such as process simplification, technology utilization improvements, and efficiency for the Human Resources department. This position will identify areas of improvement aligned with the university strategic goals.

This position directs and develops project plans, coordinates all aspects of project implementation, helps to manage and coordinate joint project teams within the human resources department and university. The position will coordinate project briefing, data collection and reporting.

The Project and Process Excellence Manager will develop and report on KPIs for each project (delivery and performance) across the planning team, including business results from each project such as service level improvements, process simplification, technology adoption, efficiency, and savings. This position will build dashboards and metrics to provide a general overview of HR-related data for monitoring and improvement purposes and to support HR leaders to analyze all critical metrics such as employee satisfaction score, turnover rate, exit interview insights, position per division distribution, average income per division, among others. The HR dashboard will give to HR AVC and HR directors and managers an overview of their team's composition, performance metrics, compensation, development opportunities, and other metrics, to make informed decisions and craft long-term goals for their organizations.

This position will report directly to the Associate Vice Chancellor (AVC) for Human Resources and University Affirmative Action agent.

Summary of Position Responsibilities This position is responsible for project management and process improvement, creating KPIs (Key performance indicators) for the Human Resources department and sub-areas and for leading workshops to brainstorming process improvements, external and internal documentation, assisting with policy updates (PIMs), expertise management, assistance with website information management and presenting results to HR directors and HR AVC. This position will drive continuous improvement towards the university strategic plan to support growth and excellent customer service to the university divisions and departments.

The position directs and leads projects and develops process improvement plans, coordinates all aspects of project planning, implementation, and evaluation. This position helps to manage and coordinate joint project teams within the department. The position will coordinate project briefing, data collection and reporting and may supervise students/interns.

Competencies: Project Management, Consultation, Communication, Process Excellence and Process Improvement, and Planning and Organization.

Minimum Education/practice
   » Masters degree and three years of related practice; or a
   » Bachelors degree and five years of related practice.
   » Strong analytical expertise (to include data retrieval, data manipulation, and data verification), combined with effective verbal and written communication expertise, are essential.
   » Demonstrated consultative and negotiation expertise are also essential.
   » Intermediate to Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and Google Sheets and Google Drive is essential.
   » Excellent communication (oral, written and non-verbal) expertise.
   » Excellent organizational expertise.
   » Strong attention to detail.
Preferred Education, expertise, expertise and practice
   » Master's degree in Business, Human Resources or equivalent with five years or more of project or process management practice.
   » expertise of of previous practice with Lean Principles.
   » Prior, or current, practice with PeopleAdmin, Banner HR, (or other comparable HRIS system) is strongly preferred. Prior, or current, practice in the design or delivery of employee training sessions is also preferred.
