The School of Writing, Literature, and Film is seeking an adjunct Director of Writing. This is a part-time (0.30 FTE), 9-month, professional faculty position.


This position assists in the administrative oversight and coordination of the School of Writing, Literature, and Film's Writing Program and its core functions, principally with respect to the Core Ed's Writing Foundations (WR 121Z), but also including courses in the Writing Elevation category where appropriate.

The adjunct Director of Writing will assist in the design and delivery of teacher training curricula and mentoring, including GTA Professional Development Sequence and Teaching Practica for WR 121Z and WR 227Z, for all modalities and campuses. They will assist in teaching support for significant courses across all modalities and campuses; act as primary contact for waiver exams, plagiarism cases, course equivalency requests, and other tasks as assigned by the Director of Writing. In collaboration with the Director of Writing, they will contact with Lead Instructors and representatives across campus in coordinating and assessing Writing Elevation curricula, particularly WR 227Z. Other tasks may be assigned by the Director of Writing as Program and School needs evolve.

The adjunct Director of Writing may be asked to collaborate with SWLF administration on scheduling and staffing, as well as in representing the Writing Program across the unit, college, University, and State, including active participation in the Oregon Writing and English Advisory Committee (OWEAC), serving on significant committees where appropriate.

Key Responsibilities 100% Administration :
