Job detail :
Reporting to the Vice President of Development and Marketing, the Director of Business Development and Fundraising is responsible for developing and implementing outreach and fundraising strategies for PBS12. This position is a member of the leadership abilities team and plays a key function in driving growth, impact, and revenue. The Director of Business Development and Fundraising will create and execute all aspects of revenue including donor cultivation, gift solicitation, underwriting, corporate support, grants, membership and planned giving. Must have a desire to increase company revenue by identifying profitable business and fundraising opportunities and developing long-term business growth strategies. Must demonstrate excellent communication, leadership abilities, and problem-solving expertise.

Key Job responsibilities:
The Director of Business Development and Fundraising is adept at developing relationships in the community that will lead to a pipeline of corporate support, individual gifts, and grant opportunities for PBS12. This position is responsible for creating and negotiating corporate partnerships, cultivating, and stewarding major and planned gifts, planning, and developing all aspects of business development, and superviseing individual giving and membership.
   » Collaborates with the leadership abilities team to develop and implement the strategic plan to secure corporate support, identifying and securing new corporate partners while managing and elevating existing relationships. Develop sponsorship and underwriting strategies and revenue generation.
   » Works closely with the content and production team, as well as the marketing team as needed, to support fundraising and development initiatives and opportunities. This includes collaboration on financial support for television content, events and new programs and initiatives. Oversight of underwriting spots directly tied to corporate sponsorships, and other opportunities for the station.
   » Partners with the VP of Development and Marketing to create and execute a strategic revenue growth plan annually. This includes strategies and tactics to support new prospect acquisition and retention inclusive of foundations, corporations, institutional partners, donors and members.
   » Provide strategic and tactic oversight of the membership program including direct mail renewals, acquisitions, and stewardship campaigns. Collaborates with the marketing team to ensure timely and topical communications are sent to members.
   » Responsible for reporting ROI on all development, fundraising and membership activities to the VP of Development and Marketing. The Director of Business Development and Fundraising is ultimately responsible for achieving annual revenue goals related to corporate support, underwriting, membership, grants, and major donors.
   » Steward and cultivate our members, major donors, and corporate communities through outreach, community partnerships, and events. Some nights and weekends required.
   » Monitors financial expenditures and progress against budgetary plan and take appropriate measures to meet top and bottom-line development goals, ensuring a high ROI in meeting revenue targets.
   » Effectively utilize the CRM platforms in support of member, donor, and business relationships. This includes data analysis to understand membership base and achieve acquisition and annual growth goals.
   » Develop fundraising pipelines and lead generation/build new donor and sponsor relationships as well as stewardship of existing relationships.
   » Facilitate, schedule, and attend one-on-one meetings with PBS12 members, donors, and partners.
Minimum Education Requirements:
   » Bachelor's or master's degree.
Minimum practice Requirements:
   » Minimum 5-7 years in business development, sales, fundraising, advertising, or related field.

   » Analytical Thinking: capability to identify issues, obtain significant information, relate, compare data from different sources, and identify alternative solutions.
   » Reliable with strong business acumen.
