Minimum Position Appropriate qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in a significant degree field and two (2) years of practice as a Certified Athletic Trainer or a Master's degree in a significant degree field.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
Candidates must be CPR/AED/First Aid certified, NATABOC certified, and be licensed in the state of Tennessee (or have the capability to obtain licensure within 90 days of hire).

Special Conditions: The department is especially interested in candidates with a Master's degree in a related field and practice in a Division I setting.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
This position may require some nights, weekends, and travel.

Working Conditions: While performing the tasks of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to stand, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Additional Working Conditions: The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

tasks & Job responsibilities: Perform injury & illness avoidance, evaluation, management, treatment, and rehabilitation. Provide first aid & emergencycare coverage during practices, games, training sessions, and travel. Design and perform rehabilitation exercise programs for injured athletes. Apply preventative taping &/or bracing to prevent or protect against athletic injuries. Administer therapeutic modality treatments on injured athletes.

tasks & Job responsibilities: Communicate with physicians and coaches regarding the physical progress of athletes. Coordinate physician care for injured or ill athletes.

tasks & Job responsibilities: Serve as medical records coordinator of medical files for student-athletes.

tasks & Job responsibilities: Evaluate and coordinate the nutritional needs of athletes.

tasks & Job responsibilities: Assist in the hiring and supervision of department Graduate adjuncts and Interns.

tasks & Job responsibilities: Maintain medical inventory, and order Sports Medicine supplies and equipment. Maintain Emergency medical & rehabilitation equipment.

tasks & Job responsibilities: Must maintain NATA-BOC certification, State of Tennessee Licensure, and CPR/AED certification.

Stays current in the athletic training field through continuing education classes and industry-specific publications.
