Primary Purpose of Position The purpose of this position is to support the activities, functions, and administrative tasks related to college-wide programs, processes, and special projects within the College of Computing and Informatics. Primary responsibilities include but not limited to: » Building, maintenance, and management of class schedules for college-wide courses » Hiring of part-time faculty and instructors of record for college-wide courses » Teaching adjuncts (TA) and instructional adjuncts (IA) management for college-wide courses: job posting, hiring, training, evaluation, community-building » Execution of college-wide academic processes: processing credit-by-exam and independent study requests, issuing course authorizations, collecting course syllabi, etc. » Assisting with procurements for college-wide programs: renewing software licenses, purchasing textbooks, instructional tools / resources, etc. » Handling travels for students and directors in the college-wide programs » Other administrative tasks: coordinating meetings among college-wide course instructors, sending reminders about university deadlines related to courses and administrative support and coordination for special college-level programs and events (e.g., Summer Research practice for Undergraduates) Minimum Education/practice Required Minimum Appropriate qualifications: Graduation from high school and one year of related office practice; or an equivalent combination of education and practice. University Preferred Appropriate qualifications: Graduation from high school and demonstrated expertise, expertise, and abilities gained through four years of specialized office practice or an equivalent combination of education and practice. Essential Job tasks This position reports directly to the Associate Dean (AD) for Undergraduate Programs and Student Success in the college of Computing & Informatics. The range of tasks include administration and coordination of a variety of business functions pertaining to the college-wide level/programs: » Manages and executes class schedules and academic processes » Manages hiring of part-time faculty, instructors of record, teaching adjuncts (TA) and instructional adjuncts (IA) which including training, evaluation of reviewing and approving student time sheets. » Handles travel requests and assists with procurement as needed. » Utilizes a mix of expertise, initiative, and sound judgment to work with program directors, staff, and students. Other Work Responsibilities » Arranging special events/programs and assist with other assignment as needed. » Other tasks as assigned. Departmental Preferred practice, expertise, Training/Education » Bachelor's degree is preferred. » Three years of office/clerical practice. » practice with employee and class schedule functions in Banner is preferred. » expertise of 49erMart, P-card, NinerWorks is preferred. » Must have excellent communication expertise (both written and verbal) and interpersonal expertise. » capability to multitask and prioritize tasks when faced with a heavy workload. » Strong attention to detail and deadlines is essential.
