Your function will involve comprehensive testing of various materials, from soil to concrete, using your expertise of ASTM, AASHTO, DOT, and project requirements. By reviewing plans and communicating effectively with project stakeholders, you will play a critical function in documenting field activities and testing results. Leveraging tools like Metafield® for data management, you'll collaborate closely with Construction Services and Geotechnical Project Management teams to drive project success. ARE YOU A GOOD FIT FOR THIS CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS STAFF ENGINEER function? To excel as a Construction Materials Staff Engineer at S&ME, Inc., candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. While 0-2 years of practice in field and laboratory testing is preferred, a availability to lgain and grow within the function is essential. Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are crucial for engaging with project stakeholders and documenting findings accurately. candidates should be open to obtaining International Code Council (ICC), American Concrete Institute (ACI), and/or Department of Transportation (DOT) certifications in the fields of aggregate, asphalt, soil, reinforced concrete and masonry certifications, demonstrating a commitment to professional development. Additionally, having or working towards an Engineering Intern certification (EIT) within 12 months will showcase a dedication to advancing in the field.
