Organizational Unit Overview The Office for Faculty Excellence (OFE) provides faculty development programming and support to faculty and emerging faculty with the mission of ?Supporting Outstanding Faculty in Their Teaching, Research, & Service through Faculty Development Programming and Consultation.? The office works with partners to program well over 200 programs during the year and several intensive summer professional development opportunities. The OFE coordinates New Faculty Orientation and events such as the University Teaching Awards Ceremony. OFE team members provide consulting, advertise, or organize workshops on topics that are relative to faculty functions and processes, and make asynchronous resources available for faculty to access as needed.

Job tasks this function provides a wide variety of support to faculty for development of instructional materials, technical assistance to workshops conducted through the Office for Faculty Excellence, support for faculty members developing online courses, and everyday technology-related support needed within the OFE. The position also involves providing leadership abilities for a student design team and support during in-person events such as New Faculty Orientation and an annual Teaching Awards Ceremony.
(20%) Developing and maintaining web-located resources: Provide leadership abilities for the OFE website to ensure that materials, schedules, and recordings are maintained in a proactive, accurate, and timely manner. Create asynchronous resources as needed for just-in-time access. Provide leadership abilities to ensure web materials are up to date and accurate. Manage web-located features faculty can use to request support from the OFE
(10%) Providing technical support within the OFE: Ensure equipment and technology used by the OFE is up to date and functioning properly. Lead efforts to capture, store, organize, and make available recorded session and video-located resources. Help inventory and monitor use of OFE equipment and collaborate with ITCS as needed.
(35%) Providing technical support to partners collaborating with the OFE for faculty professional development or support opportunities: Serve as the point person for technical support for faculty delivering professional development opportunities virtually. Attend sessions and provide technical assistance. Support presenters with technical needs for hybrid or in-person sessions. When sessions are designated to be recorded, record the sessions, edit the videos, and post recordings as applicable. Provide video and photography support, as appropriate, to the OFE and faculty working on instructional materials.
(10%) Planning professional development opportunities: Work with significant campus partners to plan faculty professional development opportunities to align with skills connected with this position.
(20%) Supporting Faculty Online Course Development: Serve as one of the campus coordinators for Quality Matters (QM) and support faculty through the process of developing courses for online delivery and submitting courses to be certified through QM.
(5%) Other tasks as assigned

This position is contingent upon available funding.

Minimum Education/practice Master's degree in educational technology, technology systems, or related area. practice providing technical support in educational settings. Strong interpersonal communication skills, verbal and written.

License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation N/A

Preferred practice, Skills, Training/Education expertise of and capability to use software, networking, and hardware used in higher education environments. capability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
