Primary Purpose of Position The primary purpose of the Financial Aid Specialist will be: » Manage daily, weekly, and monthly reports connected with the Office of Financial Aid involving but not limited to Federal Pell Grant, Federal TEACH Grant, and monthly reconciliation of the Federal Grants. » Import and export federal grant files to the Department of Education daily. » Serve as the point of contact for transient study program Charlotte, which will require adjusting aid located on final outcome of courses. » Serve as a backup for withdrawal processing, study abroad, and part of term. » Provide financial aid counseling both on the telephone, email and in person. This will include providing information regarding financial aid policies and procedures to prospective students as well as current students, parents and other visitors. Minimum Education/practice Required Minimum Appropriate qualifications: Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and practice. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. University Preferred Appropriate qualifications: Graduation from a four-year college or university and two years of administrative or office management practice in the student services or related field; or equivalent.
