Job Summary Discapability Access Services is seeking an adjunct Coordinator: Accessible Formats. This is a full-time 1.00 FTE, 12-month, professional faculty position.

Discapability Access Services (DAS) aspires and actively works towards equitable and accessible practices for students with disabilities at Oregon State University (OSU). DAS serves the mission of OSU by providing access to educational opportunities to a population who has historically been underprivileged in higher education, students with disabilities. DAS supports disabled students by providing reasonable and appropriate accommodations as required by Federal and State laws. DAS promotes the development of student self-advocacy expertise while maintaining fundamental academic and technical standards.

This position makes decisions that require expertise of disabilities, the functional impact of those disabilities, and assistive technologies required to provide students equal access to the programs and services provided by OSU. The incumbent analyzes situations accurately, evaluates alternatives and adopts an effective course of action at the direction of the Accessible Formats Coordinator. This position also makes decisions and determinations on the best way to convert information into an accessible format. This position reports to and assists the Accessible Formats Coordinator and directly supervises DAS Technology adjuncts and student workers, to deliver accessible content to disabled students located on their approved and requested accommodations.

What You Will Need
   » Bachelor's degree in Discapability Services, Information Technology, Management, Liberal Arts, or a significant field.
   » practice assisting in project management with the capability to document, analyze, track, prioritize, and evaluate risks and required resources.
   » Task management expertise including capability to identify risks and required resources to keep projects on task and meet deadlines.
   » capability to learn, understand, and master new technologies (including assistive technologies) under short deadlines.
   » Works well independently and as a team member.
   » Excellent communication (oral and written) expertise.
   » Strong organizational expertise, detail-oriented, and capability to multitask.

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must prosperously complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.

What We Would Like You to Have
   » expertise of federal and state laws regarding discapability access and compliance, including Section 504 and 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and the ADA.
   » 2 years of working with individuals with disabilities in an educational setting.
   » practice in remediating materials into Accessible PDFs, HTML, Braille, and tactile graphics
   » practice with technology used in an academic setting, websites, databases, learning management and course presentation software (i.e. Canvas, Google Documents, etc.).
   » 1-2 years managery practice
Working Conditions / Work Schedule Typical Office Environment, typically works 8am - 5pm Monday through Friday. Some evenings and weekend work required. In-person at Corvallis Campus.
