This position may be eligible for a telework schedule once onboarding into position is completed and with manager approval.

Primary Purpose of Position The Digital Marketing Strategist will guide and synthesize the digital practice with the aim of providing a better overall practice for our audiences. Digital practice can include websites, emails, newsletters etc. This position will work with other areas in the University, to lend skills, guide/inform digital best practices. The Digital Marketing Strategist leads the user journey strategy and develops integrated marketing and communication campaigns designed to meet the needs and goals of the department.

Responsibilities include:
   » Consult with various departments and units to understand their content needs and counsel them on plans of action that fit into the overall content strategy for the University.
   » Create, curate, and manage high-quality, engaging, and SEO-optimized content for the university's websites including Charlotte.edu, inside.charlotte.edu , academics.charlotte.edu , ucomm.charlotte.edu ,and others as necessary.
   » Ensure all content adheres to brand guidelines, tone, and voice.
   » Write compelling stories in Charlotte's brand tone and voice for use on University websites and platforms with the capability to integrate photography, graphics and videography.
   » Create compelling storytelling content including alumni success stories for use in the Niner Nation News monthly newsletter.
Minimum Education/practice Required Minimum Appropriate qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and practice. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

University Preferred Appropriate qualifications:

Graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in a closely related field and two years of practice that provides the expertise, skills and abilities needed in the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and practice.

Essential Job tasks Responsibilities include:

   » Map the user journey practice located on engagement goals.
   » Oversight and design of digital marketing tactics including but not limited to email, websites, newsletters, digital partnerships.
   » Oversight and coordination of multiple platforms ensuring brand alignment.
   » Collaborate with content creators to design multimedia digital stories.
   » Develop a best in class user journey master plan for University home page redesign at the top tier page levels.
   » Continuously strive to be the subject matter expert on digital marketing best practices and accessibility.
   » Creation of user journey maps for specific digital tactics offering solutions looking toward best UX practices.
Departmental Preferred practice, Skills, Training/Education
   » Bachelor's degree in related field and 3 years of practice.
   » Excellent communications and problem solving skills.
   » practice with WordPress, Drupal content management systems. Some HTML, CSS, JavaScript, background valuable.
   » practice in MS Office, Google Suite, Google Ad.
   » Some practice with Salesforce, Marketing Cloud and/or other email marketing platforms.
   » practice using Google Analytics/GA4. GTM and Google Search Console is a plus.
   » practice with Adobe Creative Cloud including Adobe XD or another prototyping tool.
   » practice using monday.com or other project management software preferred.
   » Familiarity with UX design cycle phases.
   » A strong, collaborative and communicative workstyle.
   » capability to juggle multiple projects with differentiating results simultaneously and within time and budget constraints.
   » Strong attention to detail needed.
