KSMQ Public Television is a PBS affiliate and a non-profit broadcaster that provides essential media content and other services to over 700,000 residents in 22 counties in southeastern Minnesota and northeastern Iowa. Help us grow and we will help you grow! We are seeking for a highly energetic, organized professional interested in making short documentaries and assisting in the creation of other TV programming. The Television Producer will help KSMQ build on its solid foundation of delivering content to a wider audience as well as our immediate and surrounding communities. JOB SUMMARY: The Television Producer will be expected to create video stories and to produce programs. Essential tasks & Responsibilities » Assistance with production of our programs (producing, videography, and editing); » Produce and edit KSMQ programs; » Assist with live-streaming events; » Produce, record, and edit short documentaries and feature stories; Qualifications/Requirements » Bachelor's degree in television, mass communication, marketing, or digital media preferred; » practice with producing short form video stories; » Media file management practice; » Computer literacy required (Word, Outlook, Excel); » Video editing practice (preferably Final Cut X); expertise, expertise & Abilities » Strong communication and writing expertise; » Strong collaboration expertise and ?team player? attitude; » capability for independent thought, problem-solving expertise and the foresight to involve others when needed; » capability to multitask in a fast-paced environment; » Accuracy and relicapability for exceptional attention to detail; » Even temperament, especially when working under tight deadlines; » Must be able to lift a maximum of 50#, and have the capability to execute physical functions as required; » Be a self-starter, show initiative; » MMJ practice a plus; » Drone license also a plus.
