Primary Purpose of Position The Director of Academic Technologies (DAT) provides leadership abilities in the application and use of computing technology in support of the mission of the College of Computing and Informatics. Summary of Position Responsibilities The Director of Academic Technologies (DAT) guides the development, operation, and vision for the computing resources that support the college's research, teaching, and service objectives. The DAT provides assistance and support to department and college computing initiatives and serves as a source of technical skills for matters related to computing in the college. Minimum Education/practice » Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a closely related field from an accredited university required » 5 years management practice with higher education practice preferred, part-time or full-time employees » Proven record of managing budgets and directing and motivating staff to deliver client-oriented services Preferred Education, expertise, Skills and practice » Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Information Technology » 5 years practice in Tier 2/Tier 3 customer support within Information Technology (infrastructure, operations, or development) » 5-7 years practice working within Information Technology, preferably in an academic setting » Higher education practice » Management practice in a technical discipline » Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills Necessary Certifications/Licenses Preferred Certifications/Licenses Special Notes to candidates » Information about the university's benefits package can be found at https://hr.charlotte.edu/benefits . » The finalist will be subject to a criminal background check.
