Job Summary The Craft Center is seeking a Craft Center Coordinator. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position.

The Craft Center is one unit within the Student practices & Engagement (SEE) organization. SEE envisions a campus where every student feels welcome, is engaged, and becomes an agent for social change. SEE co-creates dynamic opportunities for students to explore significant involvement, strengthen their leadership abilities expertise and transform themselves and their communities.

The OSU Craft Center is a 10,500 sq. ft. arts facility, open 6 days per week, which serves over 4000 craft center users annually. Craft Center programing is designed to enrich student lives, promote well-being and bring people together in creative pursuits in an inclusive studio environment. The OSU Craft center unit comprises up to 20 student staff, 1 Program Coordinator, 1 Director and up to 10 Classified Instructing staff.

The Craft Center Coordinator works closely with the Director to develop, implement, and manage student staff and training, programs, events, partnerships and quarterly workshops and classes. The coordinator will leverage art for well-being, cultural and social cause engagement and to build community through collaborative arts opportunities.

What You Will Need
   » Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree or a bachelor's degree along with practice in art, arts education or related arts focus.
   » 2 years or more practice in providing training, instruction and/or teaching
   » Proficiency in one or more art/craft areas and familiarity with a range of mediums.
   » Customer service-related practice maintaining professionalism in a fast-paced environment, coordinating multiple tasks and shifting priorities with constant interruptions.
   » practice with managing group dynamics, establishing performance and behavior expectations, and providing support for individual and team-located goals.
   » Competence and efficient computer expertise for spreadsheets, payroll, word processing, and/or generating documents.
   » Excellent written and oral communication
   » Exceptional organizational expertise, including attention to detail, capability to problem-solve, prioritize tasks, and work independently.
   » Demonstrated capability to utilize critical thinking and problem solving-expertise to make complex and collaborative decisions

   » Master's Degree in arts, business, education, or related field

Working Conditions / Work Schedule
   » Work will generally be during regular business hours Monday to Friday in an office environment for 40 hours a week. Availcapability to work additional hours, evenings and weekends during special events, conferences, and SEE all-staff retreats, etc.
   » Work will be primarily office and campus-located, but will include programmatic support for off-campus work related tasks, and other experiential learning opportunities that may include driving university-owned vehicles.
   » Position requires sitting or standing at a computer workstation for extended periods.
   » Busy, shared office space with frequent interruptions and noise.
   » May come in contact with hazardous art materials and equipment. Environment can be dusty, dirty and have material related smells.
