Administrative adjunct

May 16, 2024 Long Island Campus Financial Aid
St. Joseph’s University seeks a full-time Administrative adjunct for the Office of Financial Aid at its Long Island campus.  Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Financial Aid, the Administrative adjunct will provide administrative support and excellent customer service to a diverse population of students, staff and faculty. In addition, the prosperous candidate will be responsible for coordinating mailings, serving as the primary point of contact for telephone calls, and document and file management.

Job responsibilities:

   » File management, record keeping and document imaging
   » Opening and processing mail
   » Monitoring and ordering office supplies
   » Answering financial aid questions and providing support to students via e-mail, telephone, and other communication methods
   » Scheduling appointments for financial aid counselors
   » Assisting the Director and Associate Director with special projects and other tasks as assigned
   » Supervising approximately two student workers
   » Representing the office at special events (Open House, Admitted Students Day)

Appropriate qualifications:

   » Associate’s degree preferred
   » One to two years of related practice preferred
   » Strong analytical , organizational, and interpersonal expertise
   » Excellent verbal and written communication expertise
   » capability to deal with confidential and sensitive information
   » Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)

Starting income: $34,000

The position is a full-time, Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. position; however, some evening and/or weekend hours may be required during peak processing times or for recruitment events. Periodic travel for professional development and training may also be necessary. This position will require working both at our campus located in Patchogue, at our off campus location in Great River.
