Architectural Designer - Residential Studio (3-6 years practice)
Our Residential Studio wants to engage with an Architectural Designer with 3-6 years of architectural work practice who has a profound interest in custom home building and is reflective in all aspects of their design work. We are particularly interested in connecting with designers who have a developed knowledge of building envelopes and home performance and are focused on producing elevated design work. Our ideal candidate approaches learning and the design process with energy, curiosity, and an intuitive mind. We are a team that seeks solutions to design opportunities proactively and we often work with our team of builders and cabinet makers to generate creative recommendations that best serve our clients.

As a designer in our Residential Studio, you can expect to:
   »
Measure and document existing structures.
   »
Participate in regulatory review to verify local and state codes and regulations.
   »
Develop projects through each phase of design -in collaboration with Project Manager and/or Director of the Residential Studio.
   »
Document the design in each phase of assigned projects through drafting, modeling, and compiling drawing sets.
   »
Be responsible for specific technical design aspects of assigned major projects, including investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions that best meet the client’s needs.
   »
Coordinate drawing sets and work with your team members to meet project milestones.
   »
Contribute to design solutions and project presentations.
   »
Prepare project specifications, compiling and analyzing significant information.
   »
At times, communicate with our construction division and other subcontractors to gain an knowledge of budgets and schedules that best serve our clients needs -in collaboration with Project Manager.
   »
At times, coordinate with clients on project needs and find solutions to their design concerns in a professional and timely manner -in collaboration with Project Manager.
Appropriate qualifications:
   »
4 to 6-year Architectural degree from an accredited Architecture Program
   »
3-6 years practice in the architecture field
   »
Design + documentation expertise
   »
practice in Residential Architecture and wood-framed construction is desired
   »
A keen interest in sustaincapability is a plus
   »
Knowledge and aptitude at using Archicad BIM software (preferred) or other 3D modeling software (such as Revit)
   »
Knowledge of Twin Motion is a plus
   »
Graphic expertise in composing presentations and renderings -Adobe Suite expertise preferred
   »
practice with interiors would be a great asset
