Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fil one part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Student Advisory Board position with ASOSU at Oregon State University (OSU).

ASOSU Student Advisory Board At-Large Position Description:
ASOSU supports the university community by promoting academic excellence, encouraging the intellectual, social, cultural, and physical development of the student body, and enabling the student body to assert its varied interests as citizens and members of the academic community through democratic representation. We are a student-centered organization that fosters student engagement through employment and engages in shared decision making with the Student Advisory Board.

ASOSU Student Advisory Board Mission and Purpose:
The ASOSU Student Advisory Board is responsible for supporting the ASOSU unit through rigorous dialogue in formulating long-range vision, establishing and maintaining inclusive partnerships with campus organizations and community, ensuring fiscal responsibility, anticipating future needs, and identifying strategies sufficient to realize these plans.
The ASOSU SAB shall serve the following purposes for the benefit of students, faculty, staff and guests of Oregon State University:
   » Review and make recommendations regarding the proposed annual budget of ASOSU
   » Recommend the student fee amount required to support the ASOSU annual budget request to the Budget Manager
   » Recommend any fee change for the upcoming fiscal year to the connected Students of Oregon State University (ASOSU) Student Fee Committee (SFC)
   » Review unit programs, services and facilities and make recommendations to staff to support and enhance the success of OSU students, faculty and staff
   » Serve as a sounding board for the leadership abilities of ASOSU
   » Serve as a liaison between the ASOSU and SFC
Position tasks Job responsibilities:
SAB At-Large members are expected to work approximately five hours per month. Actual time spent working in this function will vary with the annual budget cycle. all over the year, At-Large members are expected to:
   » Attend all SAB meetings
   » Meetings occur weekly in fall term, and variably across winter and spring terms
   » Attend individual meetings as needed with SAB members or committees as needed
   » Review budget and related documents
   » Regularly check email, Teams messages, and other electronic communication

   » Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
   » Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
   » Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
   » High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
   » Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
   » Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
   » Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
   » Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*

*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered ?full-time? by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.

   » Excellent written and verbal communication expertise
   » Demonstrated capability to work collaboratively with a diverse team
   » Not otherwise working within ASOSU (Student Government, SafeRide, the Office of Advocacy or Student Legal Services)
Preferred (Special) Qualifications
   » expertise of student fee-funded programs/resources
   » practice with budgets, fee-setting, and/or board and committee work
   » Demonstrated commitment to improving the practices of others
Working Conditions / Work Schedule Compensation:
This is a stipend position. At-Large Members will receive a monthly stipend equating to five hours at $16.50.
