Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill 8 part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Student Event Support positions at The LaSells Stewart Center on the Corvallis Campus.

At The LaSells Stewart Center, Student Workers will get to work hands on with various types of events that include lectures, musical performances, traveling shows, and so much more! Students will have the opportunity to work on their customer service expertise, running A/V equipment in a live environment, as well as many other practices that will help grow an individual's expertise for future job opportunities after college.

Student Workers will also have a chance to fill part of their weekly 24 hours at Printing and Mailing if desired and The LaSells Stewart Center is not offering them a full 24 hours for the week.

Position tasks 50% Event Setup and Teardown
This includes, but is not limited to:
   » Setting and removing furniture for events (tables, chairs, etc.)
   » Setting up and testing A/V equipment which includes:
   » Computers, Projection, Audio Equipment (microphones, speakers, etc.), Lighting Equipment, and more
   » Making sure the facility is clean and free from trash for upcoming events

40% Event Support
This includes, but is not limited to:
   » Assisting clients with technical issues
   » Operating A/V equipment which includes:
   » Presentation Computers, Live Sound Equipment (soundboard, microphones, speakers, etc.), Lighting Equipment (lightboard, stage lights, follow spots, etc.), and more
   » Stage crew support (stage hand, load-in & out crew, ushering, etc.)

10% Other tasks As Assigned

   » Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
   » Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
   » Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
   » High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
   » Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
   » Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
   » Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
   » Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*

*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered ?full-time? by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.

Additional Required Qualifications
   » Must be able to lift and move at least 50lbs. regularly
   » Must be a prompt and reliable individual
   » Must be available to work some mornings, nights, and weekends outside of normal building operation hours

Preferred (Special) Qualifications
   » practice operating audio, video, and lighting equipment.
   » Excellent customer service expertise
   » Previous practice working in customer service
   » expertise of MS Office® suite such as Word®, Excel®, PowerPoint®
   » availability to lgain and take direction
   » Comfortable working as an individual or as a part of a team
   » Courteous and detail oriented
   » Trustworthy and dependable
   » Current training in CPR, First Aid, and use of AED.

   » The available working hours can be irregular, due to schedules being built around LSC Events.
