Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill 30 part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) TOUR Ambassador positions for the Office of Admissions at Oregon State University (OSU).

Oregon State University TOUR Ambassadors represent OSU through a variety of prospective student recruitment events within the Office of Admissions. TOUR Ambassadors conduct prospective student visit program components including campus and housing tours, virtual campus tours, student panels, group visits, represent OSU during recruitment events and large visit programs, and work weekly office hours at the Welcome Center. Student employees can expect to work within a range of hours (4-20 hours/week) that is flexible with and supports their academic priorities. All visit programs are conducted in-person and virtually. There are opportunities for TOUR Ambassadors to participate in off-campus recruitment events and/or multicultural-focused recruitment events, as interested. prosperous candidates enjoy working with people, have a wide variety of life practices and an eagerness to promote Oregon State University to prospective students and their families. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply. TOUR Ambassadors receive ample and continuing training to prepare you to be prosperous in this job.

Position tasks
   » Staff the Welcome Center front desk and correspond with prospective students regarding visit opportunities. Answer questions via email and phone from prospective students, family members and others interested in Oregon State University.
   » Conduct guided campus and housing tours (both virtual and on-campus)
   » Assist with Office of Admissions recruitment activities/programs including large campus visit programs (Beaver Open House, Orange & Black Days, etc.) and group tours
   » Interact with other OSU ambassador groups and provide student recruitment assistance to the undergraduate colleges
   » Have opportunities to work with campus-wide marketing efforts to promote OSU
   » Have opportunities to travel off-campus for recruitment events and/or participate in multicultural-focused recruitment events
   » Students may drive Motor Pool vehicles for recruitment or visit programs (not required for all)

   » Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
   » Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
   » Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
   » High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
   » Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
   » Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
   » Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
   » Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*

*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered ?full-time? by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
