Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Social Media & Event Support Specialist positions located at the OSU Portland Center in downtown Portland.

This position will work under the direction of the Community, Conference Services & Social Media Manager to provide a combination of customer service, event design, social media creation, and administrative support to the Portland Center for Oregon State University (OSU).

Position tasks Assistance with social media content creation and online community engagement; Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn.
This includes:
   » Taking event photos and videos of events and units at the center
   » Creating fliers and advertisements
   » Highlighting our catering and vendor partners, as well as Downtown Portland community
   » Responding to comments
   » Liking and sharing content significant to the OSU Portland Center and/or Downtown Portland
   » Following groups that have held events and the OSU Portland Center

Assistance with all elements of event management and execution, from early planning to day-of set up and take down of events.
This includes:
   » Making and printing name tags, signage, and other printed materials
   » Providing event check-in
   » Coordinating with external vendors for various event aspects such as catering
   » Organizing and keeping inventory of event materials in storage spaces Customer service on-site during events, to include taking photographs
   » Other administrative tasks as needed

   » Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
   » Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
   » Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
   » High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
   » Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
   » Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
   » Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
   » Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*

*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered ?full-time? by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.

Working Conditions / Work Schedule Workplace is a typical office environment during normal working hours (8am to 5pm). However, some evening and/or weekend hours are expected on occasion to assist with events.

candidates must be able to work a minimum of a 2-hour shift, but ideally will be available for 3- 4-hour shifts. Students should be available to work a minimum of 10-15 hours per week during the term, with a maximum of 24 hours per week.

Physical requirements may include remaining in a stationary position, such as sitting or standing while completing a task, and maneuvering supplies up to 50 lbs.
