Job Summary University Facilities, Infrastructure, and Operation (UFIO) is seeking a Director of Capital Accounting & Financial Planning. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE),12-month, professional faculty position.

This position provides direct oversight of the Senior Associate Vice President for Administration's (SAVPA) financial accounting, capital reporting, analysis, and budgeting, serving as SAVPA's unit business agent. This position manages, supervises, and provides leadership abilities for capital asset management across the entire university, including the use of plant funds for construction in progress. This position provides leadership abilities and information on short- and long-term financial planning for operational and capital planning.

The position serves as a member of the UFIO leadership abilities team and participates in the SAVPA leadership abilities team, contributing to the strategic and tactical planning of the overall organization. The Senior Associate Vice President for Administration (SAVPA) unit includes: University Facilities Infrastructure and Operations (UFIO), Environmental Health and Safety, Insurance & Risk Management Services, Public Safety, and Procurement, Contracts & Materials Management.

This position also has managery responsibility for the Financial Services department in UFIO. This position is expected to develop and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships and partnerships with significant offices and organizations within the university, statewide, and nationally.

Key Responsibilities Provide oversight for fiscal operations and provide financial services and guidance in support of leadership abilities and their respective units within the Senior Associate Vice President of Administration (SAVPA) organization (39 total units - $51.4M): University Facilities Infrastructure and Operations (25 E&G units - $32.2M budget, 3 self-support units - $5.4M), Environmental Health and Safety ($2.6M), Insurance & Risk Management Services ($0.7M), Public Safety (5 units - $5.8M), Procurement, Contracts & Materials Management (E&G - $3.6M, self-support - $0.5M), and Senior Associate Vice President of Administration (2 units - $0.6M).

Provide oversight for fiscal operations for capital assets including the establishment, tracking, reporting, and allowable usage of plant funds as part of any project that meets OSU's capitalization requirements (annual RP-2 report most recently $286M in annual construction in progress). Work collaboratively with Fixed Asset team and other campus partners to properly record capital assets.

What You Will Need
   » A bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or field related to assigned responsibilities
   » Five years of strategic budgeting/planning & accounting practice in a university, government, or corporate setting
   » Two years of practice in managing multiple funds and budgets, including directly advising or consulting senior leaders on financial activities
   » Demonstrated practice in financial forecasting and accounting in a dynamic and fast paced setting
   » Demonstrated capability to work independently and resolve complex problems
   » Advanced computer expertise including use of spreadsheet and enterprise systems
   » Three years of practice in the supervision of full-time staff
   » Demonstrated capability to work in a team setting and as a leader for a responsive and diverse set of business and accounting professionals
   » Excellent written and verbal communication expertise
   » Demonstrable commitment to foster an inclusive and collaborative environment for staff, customers, and campus community.
   » This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must prosperously complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
