Job Summary This recruitment will be used to fill one full-time Stage Production Coordinator (Crew Chief), position for the College of Liberal Arts, Patricia Valian Reser Center for the Creative Arts , at Oregon State University (OSU).

This position in the Patricia Valian Reser Center for the Creative Arts provides hands-on technical stage production assistance to the Senior Technical Venue Manager and directly schedules, works alongside, and provides lead work and guidance for the student employees who work in productions and events areas. Under the direction of the Managing Director, Senior Technical Venue Manager, and Senior Events Manager, the Stage Production Coordinator participates as a lead member of, and schedules, both technical and running crew. As assigned, the position may include tasks related to venue set-up and tear-down in any of the PRAx venues (Detrick Concert Hall, Ray Theatre, Stirek Gallery, Toomey Lobby, Dixie's Garden, and the Austin|Parrish Arts Plaza), as well as in occasional off-site locations. Set-up, preparation, scenic fabrication, and strike tasks may include stage sets, AV equipment, instruments, risers, seating, lighting equipment, and all manner of similar equipment for both large-scale concerts and productions and for small-scale humanities lectures, impromptu events, and similar.

What We Require
Three years of practice as a stage hand; OR An Associate's degree in Stage Management and at least one year of practice as a stage hand; OR An equivalent combination of training and practice demonstrating possession of the expertise, expertise, and abilities of this classification.
What You Will Need
   » Strong organizational expertise, especially the capability to manage processes with multiple variables and needs.
   » Familiarity with MS Office products and the capability to lgain new software systems as determined by the venue.
   » Demonstrated capability to communicate prosperously and inclusively, with a diverse audience.
What We Would Like You to Have Prior practice providing lead work and guidance or mentoring for University students workers, volunteers, and program participants.

Working Conditions / Work Schedule A mixed working schedule matched to the ebb and flow of a performing arts venue. Evenings, weekends, and late night after concerts conclude will be common. Working overhead, on catwalks, on a tension grid, and in other unique theatrical spaces are required. capability to lift heavy components, operate a scissor lift, and fabricate scenery, props, and similar (including light carpentry tasks) are required.
