Position Summary
   » The Office of Student Life enhances the mission of OSU-Cascades by providing services, resources, activities, and involvement opportunities to support the co-curricular practice of our students. We strive to connect students to the campus community, create opportunities to expand leadership abilities expertise, and inspire students to be life-long learners.
   » The Events Council is made up of a group of students who plan campus-wide events. We facilitate spaces for memory-making and supplement students' educational lives here at OSU-Cascades. Programming adjuncts assist with staffing events and getting the word out through tabling and other opportunities.
   » This recruitment will be used to fill up to two (2) part-time Programming adjunct positions for the academic year.
   » This position will work 10 hours per week at $17.00/hour starting with training Monday, September 9th. Hours during the year include Week 0-10 during Fall term, Week 1-10 during Winter term and Week 1-Finals Spring term. This position is located in Bend, Oregon.
   » Students receiving Work Study as part of their financial aid award are welcome to apply for this position.

Position tasks
   » Event Support (60%)
   » Assist in developing a detailed Event Plan for each assigned event by providing feedback to Programming Coordinators.
   » Assist with the assessment, evaluation, and wrap-up of Events Council events by providing feedback to Programming Coordinators.
   » Assist with marketing by tabling in the Beaver Dam or Residence Hall to promote upcoming events and assist with sign-up.
   » Administrative Responsibilities (25%)
   » Assist in setting and accomplishing goals for Events Council
   » Maintain regular office hours to assist in the facilitation of day-to-day tasks and to facilitate general office tasks like answering phone calls or emails
   » Attend Events Council staff meetings and engage in continuing training, professional development, and community building
   » Support the development and maintenance of educational tools, trainings and tutorials
   » Assist in the attendance and/or ticketing process for events, including sales, deposits, and tracking payments
   » Complete other administrative tasks as needed
   » Other Position Responsibilities (15%)
   » May be asked to serve on a committee or work group within the Office of Student Life or Student Affairs
   » Work to learn, enhance, and promote diversity and social justice
   » Represent Events Council and the Office of Student Life to the OSU-Cascades and Central Oregon community
   » Engage in continuing professional development and community building
   » tasks Breakdown
   » Four hours will be for Office Hours
   » Four hours will be for either Events or marketing/event promotion (switches approximately every other week)
   » Thirty minutes will be for weekly individual check-ins
   » One hour will be for weekly Events Council meetings
   » Important Dates
   » Interviews will begin shortly after applications are received to fill positions before training.
   » Monday, September 9th to Friday, September 20th: Programming adjuncts begin student training (6 hours a day)
   » Sunday, September 22nd to Tuesday, September 24th: Cascades Welcome Orientation Event Support (HOLD full day, working 8 hours per day)

   » Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
   » Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
   » Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
   » High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
   » Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
   » Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
   » Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
   » Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*

*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered ?full-time? by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.

   » Previous practice working for any of the units in Student Life
   » practice engaging traditionally underrepresented social identities (I.e. Race, Gender, Gender Identity, or capability)
   » Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making expertise
   » expertise of or practice with project management
   » practice in leadership abilities activities, student organizations, community service, and/or outreach activities
   » Previous practice working on a committee
   » practice working with various tools within Bend Beavs Central (CampusGroups) and Microsoft Office365
   » Eligible to return as an OSU-Cascades student for the 2025-2026 (Junior standing or below)
   » In good academic standing for the term prior to selection and during entire period of employment
   » Maintain at least a cumulative GPA of 2.0 (undergraduates) or 3.0 (graduates) and be in good academic standing
