Job Summary/Basic Function: About this function:

This tenure-track position involves a range of tasks and responsibilities essential to the function. Key responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in Sport and Recreational Management, advising and mentoring students, and supervising student field practices. The faculty member will also be expected to pursue a research agenda that results in publications and extramural support, collaborate with field-located colleagues, and provide service to the department, college, university, and profession. Additionally, the candidate must demonstrate the capability to obtain graduate faculty status.

What You'll Do - Position Job responsibilities:
   » Teaching undergraduate courses in Sport and Recreational Management.
   » Research/grant writing - Pursuing a research agenda that results in publications and extramural support.
   » Service - Providing service to the department, college, university, and profession.
   » Advising and mentoring students.

   » Demonstrated expertise and skills in sport & recreation management with regard to facility design, ethics, administration, finance, and data analytics.

Physical Requirements:
   » Able to lift 25 lbs. and be able to execute a variety of physical tasks including lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, stair climbing, and walking between buildings.
   » Standing or sitting for extended periods while teaching or in office hours.

Minimum Qualifications (Education & practice):
   » Doctorate in Sports and Recreational Management or closely related field.
   »Commitment to Excellence in Teaching and Scholarship : The candidate should have a strong dedication to both teaching and academic research.
   »Teaching Abilities : The candidate should be capable of teaching various undergraduate courses in sport and recreation management, including:
   » Sport Marketing
   » Sport and Recreation Law
   » Sport and Recreation Administration
   » Event Management
   » Ethics
   »Professional Affiliations : Membership in professional organizations like the North American Society for Sport Management (NASSM) or the Sport and Recreation Law Association (SRLA).
Preferred Qualifications (Education & practice):
   »Proficiency in Course Delivery : The candidate should be skilled in delivering courses both face-to-face and online.
   »Collaborative Skills : The candidate should have a proven capability to work effectively with colleagues and students in a collaborative environment.
   »practice in Securing Funding : The candidate should have practice in obtaining external funding for research projects.
   »Practical practice : The candidate should have work practice in the sport and recreation management industry.
   »practice with COSMA Accreditation : The candidate should have practice with the Commission on Sport Management Accreditation (COSMA).
