Min Hourly Rate $14.20 (Standard); $13.20 (Non-Urban); $15.45 (Portland Metro) Max Hourly Rate $17.00 (Standard); $16.50 (Non-Urban); $18.00 (Portland Metro) Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill up to three part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Student Clerical - Library Resource Sharing & CM positions for the Resource Acquisition & Sharing (RAS) Department within the Valley Library at Oregon State University (OSU) Position tasks Provide support for the RAS Department which includes: » Retrieve library materials and prepare materials for shipment. » Scan and electronically deliver articles and book chapters. » Scan materials for Course Reserves. » Support on-site Collection Maintenance shifting project in the movement of materials within the Valley Library. » Maintain accuracy and utilize problem solving and critical thinking expertise to handle inaccurate requests, hardware and software issues. » Maintain physical library collection including shelving books and pushing a cart weighing up to 100 lbs. » Other clerical or cleaning tasks as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Full Employment Eligibility Requirements can be found here: http://fa.oregonstate.edu/stu-manual/500-employment-eligibility-requiremen ts » Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study » Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment » Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard » High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program » Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term » Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term* » Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term » Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term* *International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered ?full-time? by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center. Additional Required Qualifications » Commitment to work for the entire academic year (excluding breaks and holidays) » Employee must be able to push a cart weighing up to 100 lbs, stand for up to 3 hours at a time, sit for up to 3 hours at a time, reach overhead and bend down for materials on shelves. » Must be able lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs. » Training will be provided. Preferred (Special) Qualifications » Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student. » Customer service practice. » Team oriented. » Attention to detail. » Must be eligible and available to work 2024-2025 academic year or longer » Availcapability to commit to working one or more academic years preferred » This position begins September 2024 with optional trainings available during Summer term. Working Conditions / Work Schedule » Work schedule will accommodate classes and other commitments and will be within operating hours of the department, Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm. » Minimum 10 hrs/week and maximum 20 hrs/week during the term. » Work will be performed all over the library in both public areas and staff work spaces.
