Ideal position for those who mostly want to work located on their own availcapability. However, this position is designated as mandatory and is essential for campuswide special events such as Football Games, Commencement ceremonies, and other special events. Mandatory dates of employment are communicated well in advance for planning purposes. Additionally, the incumbent is expected to use sound judgment with respect to maintaining personal safety given their individual circumstances, but also to make a substantial and good-faith effort to reach the work site in a timely manner when adverse weather or other conditions affect normal campus operations. Pay Rate $15 Per Hour Minimum practice/Education Required Minimum Appropriate qualifications: » High School Diploma or equivalent » 2 years of professional driving practice » 1 year of customer service practice Departmental Preferred practice, expertise, Training/suitable education • practice transporting people with disabilities and familiarity with ADA regulations • Valid, state-issued Commercial Driver License, class A or B, with Passenger endorsement • Valid DOT Medical Card tasks and Responsibilities Support day-to-day transportation services and programs, including Niner Transit, Niner Paratransit, fixed-route transportation, chartered transportation for predetermined groups, special events, the shared-mobility program for e-scooters and pedal-assist bicycles, bicycle lockers, bus and shelter advertising. Other Work/Responsibilities • Prepare and complete paperwork, logs, and records legibly and completely, as required • Perform pre/post-trip vehicle inspections • Report vehicle defects and safety-related concerns • Operate state vehicles in conformity with University policy and state regulatory requirements • Provide point-to-point transportation for members of the Niner Paratransit program, the University's ADA transport service • Properly secure mobility devices (wheelchairs, walkers, etc.) for discapability transportation program members in vehicles with appropriate tie-down restraints • Operate ADA lifts/ramps • Support chartered transportation services • Fuel vehicles everyday at the end of each shift • Clean vehicles by removing trash, wiping down hard and soft surfaces, and washing exterior • Transport vehicles to/from automotive service facilities as needed • Utilize University-provided two-way radios and tablets • Monitor and inspect all transportation facilities and equipment • Serve as a dispatch and perform data entry functions supporting various transportation programs • Serve as an ambassador of the Parking & Transportation Services Department and conduct yourself in a professional and customer-focused manner • Support mandatory special events such as Football games, Commencement, and other University-hosted events that may fall outside of a traditional work schedule. Working special events is a mandatory requirement of this position • Monitor email and driver's mailbox on a everyday basis and respond accordingly • Attend quarterly driver safety meetings. • Complete mandatory training as directed by the University and participate in professional development opportunities such as manager-directed training • Report to work during adverse weather conditions as directed by PaTS leadership abilities or University guidance in adherence with the mandatory job requirement for service-supporting positions • Other tasks as assigned by the adjunct Director for Transportation or their designee.
