Minimum QualificationsMinimum Requirements (Applicant must meet all of the minimum requirements):1. Master's Degree; 2. Two years of full-time or equivalent practice in higher education student services or instruction: 3. practice working with demographically diverse college students.
Preferred QualificationsPreferred Appropriate qualifications:1. practice with Colleague or computerized college information systems. 2. One year of full-time or equivalent practice working in a community college setting. · 3. One year of full-time or equivalent teaching practice, ideally at A-B Tech Community College and/or in theNCCCS. 4. Proficiency in a foreign language such as Spanish, an East Slavic language, and/or American Sign Language.
Position DescriptionJob Description Summary: This position is grant funded through 06/30/31.The Success Coach function will support students by ensuring student access to programs and services that help to remove barriers to student enrollment and progression. this function will provide academic success coaching services, in multiple delivery modalities, while connecting students with necessary student and academic, campus, and community support services needed to promote prosperous college entry and progress towards program completion. The Success Coach will help students identify options, set academic, career, and developmental goals and assist students with making progress toward those goals, with a focus on underserved student populations. Instructs students in College Success & Study expertise and College Transfer Success classes according to theNCCCSstated curriculum forACA122. Finally, the Success Coach will assist with the coordination of activities and required reporting connected with the College's Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP). tasks: 1. Provides proactive and individualized success coaching and academic advising to a student caseload facilitated by an early alert/advising system powered by predictive analytics. 2. Utilizes the College's Student Record and Retention technologies to monitor and encourage student progression toward credential completion and covering any Early Alert concerns with students and faculty as needed. 3. Identifies and provides proactive outreach to students at-risk, connecting them to intentional intervention and student support activities. 4. Engages students in educational planning activities to help guide them to achieve their educational goals. 5. Provides referrals to other campus and community resources when applicable. 6. Empowers students to effectively communicate with faculty and student services, become better connected to resources and support services such as financial aid, career services and accessibility services. 7. Uses an Appreciative Advising approach with success coaching practice. 8. Assists in the coordination of the Quality Enhancement Plan, (including, but not limited to enrollment navigation, monitoring student academic progress, manage the logistics for success seminars and other activities connected with student success). 9. Participates in programs and initiatives that facilitate student engagement, career development, success, and retention. 10. Regularly attends assigned academic department meetings, engage with faculty/staff and other departmental meetings, as appropriate, to remain current with departmental policies and procedures. 11. Makes recommendations to theQEPDirector about improvements to design of success coaching delivery that could result in improvements in persistence and completion and other project deliverables to maximize future implementation and scalcapability. 12. Utilizes data for strategic planning and collaborates with other college operational units on matters that affect student recruitment, success, and retention. 13. Serves on College's standing committees and task force groups, as requested. 14. Participates in administrative activities related to student admissions, progression, and graduation, as requested. 15. Teaches twoACA122 classes per calendar year. 16. Contributes to the overall success of the College by remaining competent and current through self-directed professional reading, developing professional contacts with colleagues, attending professional development sessions, and attending training. 17. Contributes and adheres to the College Vision, Mission includingRISEprinciples, Values, and Foundational Focus Areas. 18. Supports workforce diversity in all its aspects. 19. Performs other tasks as assigned .
