Min Hourly Rate $14.20 (Standard); $13.20 (Non-Urban); $15.45 (Portland Metro) Max Hourly Rate $21.00 (Standard); $20.50 (Non-Urban); $21.50 (Portland Metro) Position Summary » The Office of Student Life enhances the mission of OSU-Cascades by providing services, resources, activities, and involvement opportunities to support the co-curricular practice of our students. We strive to connect students to the campus community, create opportunities to expand leadership abilities expertise, and inspire students to be life-long learners. » The Events Council is made up of a group of students who plan campus-wide events. We facilitate spaces for memory-making and supplement students' educational lives here at OSU-Cascades. Office adjuncts are responsible for keeping information on campus up-to-date, as well as greeting guests and sharing accurate information. » This recruitment will be used to fill one (1) part-time Marketing Coordinator position for the academic year. » This position will work 15 hours per week at $17.75/hour starting with training Tuesday, September 3rd. Hours during the year include Week 0-10 during Fall term, Week 1-10 during Winter term and Week 1-Finals week Spring term. This position is located in Bend, Oregon. Marketing Coordinator has an option to do 10 hours a week over the summer. Position tasks » Promotion and Digital Communication (60%) » Develop communication plan for Events Council overall, including consistent engagement with the OSU community and assessment analysis of feedback » Curate graphics, text copy, social media posts and website content for Events Council digital assets » With support of manager, respond and/or triage Events Council communications, including email and DMs » Meet one-on-one with Event Council Program Coordinators to determine promotion needs and deliverable deadlines for Events Council event and develop communication plans for every event being put on for Events Council » For major Events Council events, serve as primary contact and facilitator for Student Life, including submission of design requests and meeting facilitation (when appropriate) » General Event Support (20%) » Attend and support Events Council and other Student Life events as needed » Photograph (or arrange for photography at) Events Council events when needed » Actively post and engage the OSU community through Events Council and Student Life social media platforms during events » Assist in the attendance and/or ticketing process for events, including sales, deposits, and tracking payments » Administrative Responsibilities (10%) » Assist in setting and accomplishing goals for Events Council » Maintain regular office hours to assist in the facilitation of day-to-day tasks and to facilitate general office tasks like answering phone calls or emails » Attend Events Council staff meetings and engage in continuing training, professional development, and community building » Support the development and maintenance of educational tools, trainings and tutorials » Complete other administrative tasks as needed » Other Position Responsibilities (10%) » May be asked to serve on a committee or work group within the Office of Student Life or Student Affairs » Work to learn, enhance, and promote diversity and social justice » Represent Events Council and the Office of Student Life to the OSU-Cascades and Central Oregon community » Participate in signature Events Council or Student Life-wide events and programming each term » Engage in continuing professional development and community building » tasks Breakdown » Five hours will be for Office Hours » Four hours will be for planning and developing deliverables, as well as creating the weekly Student Life newsletter and social media posts » Four hours will be for either Events or for additional marketing planning/design » Thirty minutes will be for weekly individual check-ins » One hour will be for weekly Events Council meetings » Important Dates » Interviews will begin shortly after applications are received to fill positions before training. » Tuesday, September 3rd to Friday, September 20th: Events Council begins student training (6 hours a day) » Sunday, September 22nd to Tuesday, September 24th: Cascades Welcome Orientation Event Support (HOLD full day, working 8 hours per day) Minimum Qualifications Full Employment Eligibility Requirements can be found here: http://fa.oregonstate.edu/stu-manual/500-employment-eligibility-requiremen ts » Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study » Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment » Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard » High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program » Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term » Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term* » Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term » Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term* *International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered ?full-time? by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
