Job tasks: Job Summary:
The primary responsibility of the student graphic designer is to assist Museum leadership abilities with designing print and web graphics for Spindletop Boomtown Museum. The position will be responsible for updating and adapting existing graphics as well as producing graphics from concept through production.

This position will help prepare the student for a career in graphic design through hands-on practice including communicating with various clients from a variety of departments, fulfilling project requirements, designing within printer specifications and meeting deadlines, and adhering to brand guidelines. Information technology will also provide the student with design pieces for their professional portfolio.

Responsibilities Include:
   » Designing clear and engaging graphics for print (including fliers, posters, brochures, banners)
   » Adapting print designs for web applications (including social media graphics, web banners and digital graphics for the Shepherd Union TVs)
   » Following LU branding standards
   » Completing designs by assigned due dates
   » Continued training through personalized training programs via LinkedIn
   » Assisting Director and Program Coordinator with social media, design, art, web advertising projects.

Pay Information: $10 an hour

Minimum Appropriate qualifications:
   » Currently enrolled in Lamar University
   »Preferred Majors : Animation and special effects, Commercial and advertising arts, Digital arts, Graphic design, Industrial and product design, Marketing, Photography, Studio arts, Web development
Physical Requirements:
   » Sitting or standing; working independently and / or with managers on projects
