Job Summary The College of Forestry is seeking a Senior Advisor of Creative Practice and Innovation . This is a part-time (0.25 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position.

The Center for the Future of Forests and Society (CFFS) in the College of Forestry (COF) at Oregon State University funds research and conducts science outreach related to the solution space for climate change. CFFS prioritizes efforts that bring together an inclusive array of minds, strategies and expertise to collaboratively address complex issues we cannot solve in isolation. Together, through the CFFS, we promote interdisciplinary science, interwoven with Traditional Ecological expertise and other ways of knowing, to holistically address the challenges we are facing both in Oregon and across the globe.

Forestry is, by its very nature, a highly collaborative and interdisciplinary space. Likewise, the challenges confronting forests and society demand highly innovative, creative, imaginative, and progressive approaches. This position serves to help catalyze innovative research ideas, foster unique collaborations, inspire creative problem-solving, and help envision a resilient and just future at the interface of forests and society. Creative endeavors can include technology, data science and other ways of knowing, in addition to the creative arts.

This position convenes and works with teams of researchers to promote interdisciplinary projects. This position serves to help catalyze innovative research ideas, foster unique collaborations, inspire creative problem-solving, and help envision a resilient and just future at the interface of forests and society. This position further enhances the COF's profile as a progressive international leader in forestry and natural resources problem-solving.

What You Will Need
   » Master's in a field significant to natural resources, innovation or creative thinking; a variety of creative and scientific backgrounds will be considered.
   » broad practice (e.g. 10+ years) in writing prosperous, creative research proposals and building relationships with research teams and public and private funding organizations.
   » Demonstrated practice engaging in and facilitating interdisciplinary research collaboration.
   » Demonstrated skills to effectively engage groups towards a common goal, and to lead group discussion, facilitate conversations, and resolve conflicts.
   » Demonstrated capability to communicate scientific concepts clearly and effectively with a variety of stakeholders and to lead a team of specialists to meet established timelines and objectives.
   » capability to holistically consider equity, inclusion, and social justice all over the research process from question formulation through identification and dissemination of findings.

   » Formal recognition of professional accomplishments and impact preferred (e.g., awards, residencies, exhibitions, publications, grants, etc.).

Working Conditions / Work Schedule Work is conducted primarily in an office setting on-site, and occasionally via videoconferencing. Some travel may be required for conferences and meetings.
