The Administrative units include the Offices of the Dean, Vice Dean, Associate Dean for Student Affairs, Associate Dean for Research, Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs, Associate Dean for Extramural Clinical Practices, adjunct Dean for Dental Education and Informatics, adjunct Dean for Educational Support and Faculty Development, adjunct Dean for Academic Success and the adjunct Dean for Business Operations and Financial Affairs. The four academic departments are Surgical Sciences, Pediatric Dentistry, Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, General Dentistry and Foundational Sciences. Included in the mission of the School of Dental Medicine is to educate dental care providers (both dental students and dental residents) and to address the oral health care needs of the underserved population of North Carolina. The School of Dental Medicine meets these missions by operating dental clinics that provide both educational practices for the dental students and residents and provides dental care to the residents of North Carolina. These clinics occur in both Ross Hall in Greenville, North Carolina, as well as Community Service-Learning Centers located all over North Carolina. In order to operate these clinics, appropriate dental auxiliaries and clinical staff are needed. Job tasks This position serves in a business support function for patients, dentists and other staff at the ECU School of Dental Medicine and the Community Service learning Centers to optimize practice policies and procedures. These functions require 100% of the employees' time and effort. This position is located in a clinical site and is involved in The following functions: Registration, Scheduling, Cashiering, Outpatient Charge Entry, Telephone Operations and third party payer authorization. Minimum Education/practice High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related office practice; or equivalent combination of training and practice. License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation Preferred practice, expertise, Training/Education practice working in a dental practice preferred. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred. Familiar with medical or dental clinical software applications a plus.
