Richard Beard Architects is an award-winning, widely published design studio located in the vibrant Dogpatch neighborhood in San Francisco. Celebrating our 10ᵗʰ anniversary this year, our team of 20+ talented designers has completed, or in-progress, residential and hospitality projects all over California, Montana, Colorado, Wyoming, Florida and Texas. Each of these projects offer a unique and tailored response to site, program and climate with an emphasis on collaboration within our studio and with our colleagues. Our studio is warm, growing and supportive with a strong commitment to work-life balance, community and design.
Job Description
Working closely with projects leads, the Architect II / Designer II is an integral part of project teams working on medium to large projects in all phases of the work. Critical design thinking, an capability to work independently and a commitment to design and drawing quality are core parts of the position.
Qualifications
   » Professional degree in Architecture from an accredited university required.
   » 6+ years of single-family residential practice in an architecture studio.
   » practice leading small to medium sized residential projects or assisting project managers in leadership abilities of large residential or hospitality projects.
   » Exceptional client service skill along with excellent verbal, written and organization expertise.
   » Proficiency in Revit, Enscape, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite, Excel and Word.
   » Passion for design, drawing and the craft of construction.
   » Active pursuit of an architectural license in the State of California is desirable.
Responsibilities
   » Working with project managers, lead design and production teams for portions of architectural projects.
   » Develop design solutions, participate in client & consultant meetings, & produce drawing sets.
   » Assist Project Managers with project management tasks including schedules, quality control, and documentation.
   » Coordinate consultant deliverables, including active participation in consultant meetings.
   » Produce presentation ready renderings, model complex building components, produce technical details and drawings.
   » Research materials, building systems, and products for incorporation into active projects.
